OSBORNE Vision Statement

OSBORNE Primary fosters a caring,

inclusive environment that develops

values, attitudes, knowledge and skills in

our students that will better equip each

student to achieve a meaningful and

fulfilling life in our complex, changing

world.

Osborne Primary School would like to

acknowledge the Bunurong People, the

Traditional Owners of the land on which

we are gathered and pay our respects to

the Elders both past, present and

emerging.

As disappointing as it is to us all that we are in another lockdown period, I do

commend our students and families on their ability to adapt so quickly on hearing

this news. Well done to everyone on a very smooth transition to remote and

flexible learning. Monday morning saw our students engage with their first webex

session with their teachers. Excellent work students on completing the work tasks

set and continuing your learning at home. Keep up the great work!

We are awaiting further announcements regarding the lockdown from the Acting

Premier. There is the possibility that the lockdown will be extended. We will keep

families informed as new announcements are made.

Our planned open night on Wednesday 9th June between 5.00 and 7.00pm may

need to be rescheduled depending on the status of COVID restrictions. Our next

planned curriculum day on Friday June 11th has been moved to Monday 12th July.

Given the current circumstances we believe the change of date will work better for

families and the school.

Pam Anderson

Principal

Well done to our

National Sorry Day was on Wednesday 26th May 2021. This very important day acknowledges and

raises awareness of the history and continued effect of the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres

Strait Islander people from their families, communities and culture.

National Reconciliation Week began on Thursday 27th May, and is the perfect opportunity to recognise

the Traditional Owners of the land, and the unique place of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture

within this country. This very important week celebrates and builds on the respectful relationships

shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and all Australians. During this week students

have listened to stories, had many discussions on the importance of reconciliation, watched news

reports, and learnt about the Sir Doug Nicholls Round (formally known as the Indigenous Round) in

the AFL and the significance of the design of the guernsey.

Osborne Primary School would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we

are gathered, the Bunurong People, and pay our respects to the Elders both past, present and

emerging.

Kylie McMellon and the Inquiry Team
