Advantages and disadvantages of using Smart 3D for NIPI ONGM.
Advantages: Reduced manpower and higher quality of works
- The largest part of information is entered only 1 time in the 3D model, and in the future it is used to obtain all
deliverables (drawings, reports, interoffice memos).
-It is easier to introduce modifications – 3D is updated, and automatically all deliverables are modified as well.
-Automation some works to be performed.
-Easier interaction between departments Really multi-user work on the project.
-Software check for clashes in compliance with determined rules.
-Fewer mistakes and lower influence of human factor. Easier check of engineering solutions.
-Use of material classes. The uses only chooses the pipeline class, and pipes, fittings and valves are chosen in
compliance with rules determined in the class.
A disadvantage is only the cost of the software and the necessity to train personnel.
