This has meant that we have had to

provide most of our Library services

Initial user feedback from the Library

Survey (see below) suggests that

people are finding it more difficult to

access our services so to make

access slightly easier we have set

up an Online Reception

As many of you will know the Oliveira Library put most of their physical

collection in storage at the start of the COVID crisis We are happy to say

that some of the books from our wellbeing collection have been retrieved and

are now available to borrow again

We have continued to update our collection throughout the year including

Oxford Handbooks and other clinical and medical textbooks as well as some

further wellbeing books and a new eBook collection

We can also order books on your behalf from our network These can be

collected from Reception in the temporary Education Centre on the Isle of

Wight College Site or we can post to your workplace via internal mail

purpose is to retrieve the first 600 words containing the part of the word

Beware of word truncation in PubMed unexpected problems and

potential solutions

Vieira R BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine 202126(1)34-36

[PubMed allows truncation of a given term by using an asterisk () Its

purpose is to retrieve the first 600 words containing the part of the word

preceding the asterisk and it is a recommended practice when building the

queries to be used in systematic reviews However unawareness on how

truncation is enforcedmdashparticularly when searching for expressions with

more than one wordmdashcan result in obtaining a lower number of results than

what would be intuitively expected]
