Source code is normally reserved for copyright holders. Permits users to study, change, improve and at times also to distribute the software. Slide 3 ADVANTAGES TO OPEN SOURCE Large number of sources for support. A lot of people have access to the source code. Free to all users. Stability. Slide 4 DISADVANTAGES TO OPEN SOURCE Not all OSS initiatives have been successful. Difficult to design a commercially sound business model around the open source paradigm. Only technical requirements may be satisfied. Slide 5 WHERE CAN YOU GET IT?
