Skye Shrimpton Quantum of Solace Opening Sequence Analysis We decided to analyse the opening sequence of James Bond: Quantum of solace. This is because the bond movies are so respected within the movie industry. We feel as though we should aim high when it comes to our production and analysing such high quality action movies then it will give us a better understanding of what is expected of us. This shot is an extreme long shot. Shots like these are often used to show isolation of characters and hopelessness of the situation. This shot suggests to the audience that the main character may be in some kind of trouble as the shot shows a long shot of a rural area that presumably wont be very highly populated. The colours suggest that something bad is going to happen as all of the colours seem very dark and dull, dark colours are often associated with disaster and mystery so these might be hinted at the audience. In this shot we see a close up is a wind mirror of a car. Through this shot you can see another car. This is showing the audience that there is a car chase in progress. This is a typical thing that goes on in action movies. It is not unusual for action movies to start off with a dramatic sequence, this is an idea that we are planning to bring into our production.
