Opening to Films

Opening Scene begins with a black background. With a small image zooming in towards the screen. The soundtrack is Non-Diagetic, and is the original soundtrack for The Harry Pottor Films.

At 12 seconds, the image is still zooming in and the Harry Potter soundtrack is still playing.

The image is zoomed in more, and the soundtrack is still playing.

The image is more zoomed in at 19 seconds,and it is becoming more obvious that it is the warner bros logo. The fact the logo is a darker colour than normal, shows that the movie about to be shown is quite scary.

Same as at 19 seconds, the warner bros logo is still shown. Behind the warner bros logo, the scene is about to begin, as you can see in the center.

At 33 seconds, the scene begins, It shows the house in which is going to be in the scene. It is night time, which adds a scary effect. There is a light on, in one of the rooms, this emphasises the fact this room, is important. This is an establishing shot.

Here is a Voyeuristic point of view shot. It is as if someone is looking through the window, in which is in fact the viewer.

Here is another voyeuristic POV shot, however this one is a lot more zoomed in than the last one. This would show that the point of focus, is definitely whatever, is behind the window.

At 0:48seconds you two of the characters. The main one, being the boy in the bed, Harry Potter, and the other character being, Uncle Vernon. The opening begins with the main character, to introduce him to the audiences.

Shown here, is a close up camera shot. It is showing a magic wand, and a book. There is a wand shown here, to emphasise the fact the film is about magic.

At 1:05min, there is a close up, of the main character, and him doing magic. This creates a magical effect, and the fact he is under the duvet, shows that the magic has to be hidden.

At 1:08min the camera zooms in gradually. The editing here is a whitefade/flash, which then the title for the film comes in.

The Opening scene to Harry Potter and The Prisoner Of Azkaban, despite it being so short, It gives a representation, of what the film is going to be about.

I think this was a good opening scene to do, as it is easy to portray what the film is about.
