Process – Video Translation 1. For all collections, complete the signup form: http://openmi.ch/translation-signup. This lets us know how to properly attribute volunteers and to track who is working on which videos. 2. Go to http://amara.org/. You have the option of logging in with your Google, Facebook, OpenID, Twitter or other accounts. 3. Optional - Update your profile (e.g. you can indicate which languages you speak)

Process – Video Translation 4. In another tab in your browser, go to the Open.Michigan page for the targeted collection(s): •  Family Med: Elbow Examination •  Family Med: Foot and Ankle Examination •  Family Med: Hand and Wrist Examination •  Family Med: Hip Examination •  Family Med: Knee Examination •  Public Health: Disaster Management

Process – Video Translation 5. From the Open.Michigan page, click the CC icon next to the individual video(s). This will lead you to the Amara page for the video. 6. Select the target language for the translation. 7. Select auto-populate empty fields, which will fill the captions with computer translations from Bing if computer translations are available for that language. 8. Edit the captions for your language.

Process – Video Translation 9. If necessary, update the timing to sync the captions. 10. Click Done button. That will trigger an email to the Open.Michigan team to review the caption.
