Case StudiesRelevantBRAND LAUNCH & COMPETITION MANAGEMENT - DIGICEL

In 2002, Digicel gave Accela a tremendous task and opportunity; to be its agency in Saint Lucia and the OECS and help it penetrate a new market dominated by Cable & Wireless. The agency helped the Irish newcomer take on the formidable competition and monopoly by providing market strategy at the decision making level with the company owners, Dennis O’Brian and Lucy Gaffney. Accela accompanied Digicel’s executive board on visits to Trinidad and Barbados to also help them craft and implement market entry strategies. Digicel had a dedicated Client Service and Creative Team on 24/7 call, attending its war-room meetings and ready respond to competitive maneuvers as they happened. This strategic marketing and advertising support combined with our Public Relations initiatives like Caring Connections assisted Digicel, which was a ferocious player that understood the value of share of voice, in eventually becoming the market leaders within three years.

REBRANDING AN ORGANIZATION - INVEST SVG & ECFH

Accela Marketing was contracted to undertake the rebranding of the National Investment & Promotions Inc. (NIPI), the agency with the responsibility to facilitate the development of key sectors by attracting foreign direct investment as well as local investment. The new branding not only attracted the attention of potential investors, but it also provided new tools to market the investment opportunities and make St. Vincent and the Grenadines more competitive as an investment location. The project included a public awareness campaign component where a full range of advertising materials were produced covering print, radio, television, online and collateral for the local and foreign markets. The materials were produced in English as well as other foreign languages including French, Spanish, and simplified and traditional Mandarin. Accela undertook a complete rebranding of the Eastern Caribbean Financial Holdings Company Limited (ECFH) and its subsidiaries. The brands needed to be refreshed in order to maintain their market dominance. There was also confusion in the mind of the market about the brand differentiation between ECFH and its subsidiaries in particular Bank of Saint

MARKET STRATEGY - GRENADA COOPERATIVE BANK Like most National Commercial Banks, Grenada Corporative Bank (once the “Penny Bank”) was in dire need of an internal and external makeover to get up to speed with competition from multi-national banks that were siphoning market share, particularly from young professionals who saw the multi-national banks as modern, technologically savvy and offering more products and services that spoke to their needs. Accela Marketing spearheaded a complete brand make-over for GCB in 2011. The process involved an internal education process to support the Marketing Department and help them make a compelling case to its Board of Directors, extensive market research to provide evidence of the need and a multi-pronged, integrated market strategy spanning the course of three years. Today, GCB can hold its own among the multi-national banks and has recently launched innovative new products like “Just My Style Savings” and is finally venturing into online and mobile banking services this year.

Lucia. Accela developed a full brand and visual manifestation manual for the parent company, including revised logo graphics, new tag lines and a complete guide to the application of the new brand template.

PROMOTIONS - LIME When it comes to promotions, Accela Marketing has a pedigree honed from experience with some of the most active retail brands in the region and in Saint Lucia. There is nothing we love more than sitting around a table with clients and brainstorming innovative ways to capture the consumer’s attention in new ways. It was our pleasure to work with LIME on the Dynamite Dads Promotion in 2013. The promotion not only generated buzz locally, but has sparked the interest of LIME in other territories. We still meet LIME customers who talk about the memorable occasion of attending a red carpet, VIP Screening of the Hollywood Blockbuster ‘Man of Steel’ at the Caribbean Cinemas and the rollicking after-party.“What was truly remarkable was that it was all produced in just one week. We are very pleased with the agency’s ability to not only think prolifically on their feet but their production capabilities and seamless coordination. We are also happy to say that the LIME 50 Dymanite Dads Father’s Day Promotion was such a hit, LIME St. Kitts and LIME British Virgin Islands have requested the concept for use in their markets,” stated Marketing & Corporate Communications Executive, Sharlene Jn Baptiste.

Ongoing Regional Mystery Shopper Surveys - Courts OECS & Rubis Eastern Caribbean SRL Mystery shopper surveys are conducted on an ongoing basis for regional companies with interests throughout the OECS. The surveys serve to evaluate compliance with the company standards relating to the customer experience via visits to the individual retail outlets. The results allow for a comparison of the performance of the individual retail outlets as well as tracking of performance over time. These surveys continue to be used as tools in helping companies to identify areas for improvement in their service delivery. They also provide a basis for commendation of staff through substantiation of noteworthy performance in keeping with the companies’ standards.

OECS Energy Efficiency Awareness Survey (2012)

An Energy Efficiency Awareness Survey was conducted among five countries in the OECS with a view to inform the strategy for a public education and awareness programme on energy efficiency. In order to identify priority areas to be addressed by the campaign, the survey sought to garner information on households’ energy consumption as well as general awareness and perception of conservation methods.

Windward & Leeward Brewery Ltd. –

Packaging Concept Test (2013)Before launching its new product, the Piton Radler, Windward & Leeward Brewery Limited sought to obtain feedback from the market place regarding packaging of the product. A series of focus group sessions were held with beer drinkers and non-beer drinkers in different geographical regions across the island. In addition to information about their consumption of similar products, participants were asked to give their opinions on a number of packaging concepts that was presented. The feedback was analysed and presented to WLBL in a consolidated report. This was used to help inform the final design for the packaging concept for the product.

National Media Survey (2013)

In May of 2013, Accela Marketing, conducted its first annual media survey. A nationally representative sample, based on key demographic variables was used in order to obtain empirical data relating to prevalent media habits among Saint Lucians, including television, radio and internet-based media. The survey also garnered information with respect to mobile phone use and general lifestyle habits. The results of the media survey can be used as a tool to inform better targeting by advertisers.

MARKET RESEARCH - VARIOUS CLIENTS

Page 11:  · operations manager it manager accountant qms/market research manager client service manager business development manager creative director administration market research officers

Advertising & PromotionsWe wish to thank the Accela team for the conceptualization and execution of the Bank of Saint Lucia Land Loan Campaign which was initially intended to be a 3-month campaign from August 2010 but due to its success was extended to the end of the year 2010, and then further put back out to market during the second half of 2011.

The response by the public to the campaign was tremendous, helping to exceed sales targets set…the overall theme of the campaign Take root here…and let your dreams begin created a level of ownership and identification with the need to own a piece of the country. It was a compelling reason to act. Further the simple, single, clean image of the press advertisement

conveyed a thousand of images.

Whereas it was not originally intended, in many ways the campaign also embraced the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy as it conveyed the message of Bank of Saint Lucia in some tangible way giving back to the people of St. Lucia by making it affordable and possible for them to own land. As a result we were able to easily create and execute a public relations strategy alongside the print and radio campaign.

Once again I would like to thank the Accela team for turning what could have been very mundane advertising into an intriguing, persuasive and successful advertising campaign.

Maria Fowell, Senior Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications, East Caribbean Financial Holding

Research & Marketing StrategyAccela’s approach to the work including the market research, demonstration of our company’s strengths and relationships, and marketing strategy and approach to ensuring the future success of the brand went a long way in convincing our supplier that our company was the ideal one for their brand.

It was a pleasure working with ACCELA Marketing. The knowledge, insight and

marketing creativity and cordiality of the working relationship are strengths which ensured that we kept our status as distributor of our most profitable international brand.

John Scott Jr., General Manager, Frank B. Armstrong (St. Lucia) Ltd.

Brand & Corporate IdentityIn the fall of 2010, I embarked on a new venture – a consulting business which I was planning to start with four partners based in multiple countries (USA, CANADA and BERMUDA). We were a small start-up with big plans and absolutely no materials or company profile with which to introduce ourselves. Having seen some excellent work from Accela Marketing in the past, in particular a campaign they had created for a Xerox Partner in Saint Lucia, I contacted them for help.

Accela responded quickly with ideas and suggestions, and walked us through the next steps working with us virtually. They guided us through the many evolutions of our name, our logo and our presentation package. In a very short time we had an image for our business and a packet to present to our potential clientele that outlined our skills, talents and menu of offerings in an elegant format.

TestimonialsWhile we do believe in beating our drum where appropriate, we know the most powerful and persuasive sound is that of a satisfied client singing our praises. Here is what some of our clients in the fields of Finance, Tourism, Retail, Telecommunications, Services have to say about working with Accela.

Page 12:  · operations manager it manager accountant qms/market research manager client service manager business development manager creative director administration market research officers

We were able to take these materials and present our business at an Annual Sales Kickoff meeting held by Xerox Corporation in January 2011 which was attended by business owners and managers from 50 companies in the Caribbean and South America. These tools helped us brand and jumpstart our consulting business and we could not have pulled it together so quickly and professionally without the folks at Accela Marketing. All the work was done via the internet, but we made every deadline and the collaboration went very smoothly.

I have no hesitation to recommend them to any business looking for creative ways to get the most return for their marketing investment!

Debra Bova, DNA Business Solutions – Your Blueprint For Success

Public Awareness/PRIn 2007, Accela was approached with the formidable task of changing deeply entrenched, negative attitudes towards the Tourism Industry. They delivered a Tourism Awareness Program that was so comprehensive, multi-tiered and effective at a grassroots level.

The “You Are The U in Tourism” Campaign enveloped above the line and below the

line media, with smart use of local icons and spokespeople and a cutting edge animated short following the journey of the tourist dollar and how it touches people’s lives.

After a period of saturation, testing of the public’s perceptions revealed a remarkable turn-around. The transformation was so powerful, the slogan had become local parlance and the entire campaign is currently being revamped for re-use by the Ministry of Tourism.

Nigel A Mitchell, Director – Saint Lucia Tourism Development Programme Ministry of Tourism

Business Acumen Accela is known for its expertise in creating effective business plans and providing invaluable support to the business community. The Saint Lucia Chamber Of Commerce is proud to not only have awarded Accela with several business awards but to avail itself of the agency’s services for its Competitive Linkages Project and our Youth Business Trust initiative.

The company is an avid supporter of The Chamber and a sponsor at our events as we seek to form stronger global business outreach for the private sector.

Accela begins all their marketing and business strategies with thorough research and are able to provide insights that are unique and accurate. The Chamber wholeheartedly recommends the agency to any enterprise seeking to enhance its business or marketing endeavors in this region.

Save The Termites from

Dear Valued Host,It is the rainy season and hoards of our termite families take this opportunity to find new sources of wood to chew and destroy. The large flies with wings, that appear after heavy rains (rain flies) are winged termites looking for a new home. Will you please open your lovely homes to us and our queen and eggs? We beg you - PLEASE, do not call the FDL Pest Control Solutions team. They are ruthless when it comes to tracking us down, killing us and preventing us from enjoying your home and our time together. They even kill our young ones down to the last egg and larvae so our next generation cannot enjoy all you have to offer.
