friendly interfaces, when you need to create backups or restore

data. What if the management of the central TSM server was just

as simple? Usually, you have to resort to manually typing the

commands, which requires extensive training as well as taking up

Operator for TSM is an interface for the TSM server, which contains

Administrator ModeAs a TSM administrator, you often need to prepare new tapes, change

access status, expand a storage pool etc. Debriefing Software has

analyzed the usage pattern of TSM administrators, and developed

an interface, where the most regularly used commands can be

performed without knowledge of TSM or its syntax.

The commands are placed in context-dependent menus, in order to

only present you with the options that make sense,

However, if you still long for the old-fashioned TSM prompt, this is

naturally also available in the program.

Wizards for TSM portal, so you can gain direct access to graphs,

monitoring and statistics with just one click.

Operator ModeThe IT revision often states, that the physical tape handling must

not be performed by the same individual(s) responsible for servicing

the backup system, as this results in an increased vulnerability to

sabotage.

Experience tells us, that the manual handling of tapes is the area

where most errors occur. The cause is typically key stroke errors

in commands and scripts. That is why it is usually the person

responsible for backup, who handles checkin and checkout of off-

site tapes. This task is often seen as boring and trivial.

The goal is that an employee with ordinary Windows user experience
