If you’ve been following along in the reading plan, you might feel a bit like the Israelites, wondering if you’ll ever make it out of the wil-derness and into the Promised Land. Hang in there and keep reading. I promise if you keep reading, you’ll get through these difficult passag-es in Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. As I shared with you last week, the purpose of our study is to read strategic passages in order to gain a foundational understanding of God’s Word. These are difficult passages, but they are foundational to our understanding of the rest of the Bible, especially the Old Testament. If you are on track with us, we are working through Week 11 in the reading plan. For the first two days, you will be finishing up the book of Numbers. The days of wandering in the wilderness are drawing near the end, and these passages begin the transition of leadership from Moses to Joshua. For the last three days in the reading plan, you will be reading from Deuteronomy. The Lord is once again preparing His people to enter the Promised Land. As we studied this past week, everyone under the age of twenty, with the exception of Joshua and Caleb, would not make it into the Promised Land. So before they cross over, God gives them the Ten Commandments again and His instructions for them as they journey forward. That is where we get the name “Deuteronomy,” which means “repetition of the law,” because God is repeating the law to His people. This upcoming Sunday, in the morning service, we’ll study one of the most important passages of Scripture in the Old Testament when we look at Deuteronomy 6. In fact, you can still see evidence of the im-portance of these verses in Jerusalem today. In the evening service, we’ll rewind the story a little and cover the circumstances that led God to transfer the leadership of Israel from Moses to Joshua. I hope you’ll make plans to join us this Sunday. Keep going in the reading plan and have a blessed week! In Christ, Jason

THE BOONEVILLE BAPTIST

A Message from Carter’s Corner This week in the life of our youth, we are gearing up for the start of our Easter Drama practices. This year’s Easter Drama and Musical is “The Story.” Our youth will be in several scenes of this drama and we are looking forward to watching them. Also this week, we are praising God for the baptisms this past Sunday of two of our students, Alea Baker and Maddie Grantham. These young ladies have been in our youth group for the past year and are very active in everything we do. We are proud and encouraged by their decision to follow Christ through baptism. We ask that you pray with us this week for our students, as mid-terms are this week, both in high school and in col-lege. Please pray that our students would be encouraged and strengthened this week in the final week before spring break. Also, please pray that our God would give our students clear direction in their lives each day as they try to seek and to serve better, just as Jesus did. Please pray for the leaders of our youth group to be shining examples each day for this group. And finally, please pray for the people and leaders in Seattle, WA (where we will be going on this year’s Youth Choir Mission Trip) that they would see direction from only Him and that their church would become closer to Him each day. ▪Act Justly ▪Love Mercy ▪Walk Humbly

How Can You Help with North American Missions Right Here in Prentiss County?

Prentiss Baptist Association Needs:

• Have an extra Bible (still in good shape) that you no longer need? Con-sider donating it to the PBA. You can drop it off there or at our church office.

• They need FOOD PACKERS for the bi-monthly FOOD PANTRY MINISTRY. On the 1st Tuesday and 3rd Tuesday of each month, at

8:15 a.m., could you donate an hour or two to sack groceries? • On the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month at 9:00 a.m., they need 1-2 people willing to LISTEN, LOVE, and PRAY with one person at a time. If interested, call Bro. Chester Harrison at 728-6132.
