Downloading the WebLogic and OTM Installers from eDelivery Go to eDelivery: https://edelivery.oracle.com/ Select “E-Business Suite” and the supported Platform and press “Go”.

Look for “Oracle Transportation Management Media Pack” and click the associated link.

Download OTM and WebLogic installer Copy them to the server being used.

Downloading the OHS Installer from eDelivery Start a new search Select “Oracle Fusion Middleware” and the supported Platform and press “Go”. Look for “Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Media Pack” and click the associated link.

Download the “Oracle Fusion Middleware Web Utilities 11g” installer and copy the file to the server


Installing WebLogic

1. Unzip the WebLogic install file that was downloaded from eDelivery. 2. Start an xserver in order to use the GUI install. 3. Verify the user you are running the installer as can access java by

running the following command: java -version 4. Run the following command: java -jar wls1036_generic.jar 5. The following screen should be displayed. 6. Press “Next”.

Note: If you get a java not found error you will need to provide direct access to java for the installer or correct the users PATH setting so they can properly access the version of java you have installed on the server.


Select the option to “Create a new Middleware Home” Enter the directory where you

want to install WebLogic. Make note of this location, it

will be used during the installation of both OHS and OTM. Press “Next”

Click in the Email text box and enter your email address and other information or press “Next”.

Note: If you do not enter an email address, a screen verifying you do not wish to be informed of security updates will be displayed.

Leave the “Install Type” set to Typical and press “Next”.

Verify the location of the JDK to be used for the install and press “Next”.

Be sure and make note of the “WebLogic Server” install directory. This will be needed later during the installation of OTM. Press “Next”.

The “Installation Summary” screen shows a list of what is being installed.

When the Installation Summary screen appears press “Next” and the following screen should be displayed.

Once the installation is finished the following screen should be displayed. Note: Be sure and uncheck the “Run Quickstart” checkbox before pressing “Done”.

This completes the installation of WebLogic

Installing OHS 1. Unzip the OHS installer that was downloaded from eDelivery.

2. Go to the Disk1 directory and run the following command: ./runInstaller The following screen should be displayed. Press “Next”.

Note: Running an xserver is required in order to run the OHS installer.

On the “Install Software Updates” screen leave the “Skip Software Updates” selected and press “Next”.


Leave “Install and Configure” selected and press “Next”.

Verify all of the Prerequisite Checks pass and press “Next”.

Check the “Oracle Middleware Home”, it should match the “Middleware Home” used during the installation of WebLogic.

Note: Be sure to keep track of the “Oracle Middleware Home” and “Oracle Home Directory” values as they will be used during the OTM installation.

Press “Next”.

Click in the Email text box and enter your email address and other information and/or press “Next”.

Note: If you do not enter an email address, a screen verifying you do not wish to be informed of security updates will be displayed.

Deselect “Oracle Web Cache” and “Associate Selected Components with WebLogic Domain” and press “Next”.

Leave the “Instance Home Location” and “Instance Name” set to the default values or change them a different value if required for your install.

Note: Be sure and make note of the “Instance Home Location” and “Component Name” as they will be needed for the installation of OTM.

Press “Next”.

You can use the default value for the “OHS Component Name” or change it to another value like “otm” or “otm631”.


Leave “Auto Port Configuration” selected and press “Next”.

The Installation Summary screen should be displayed. Press the “Install” button to start the installation process.

It may be a good idea to save a copy of the responses provided during the installation. This may be helpful for others that were not present when the OHS installer was run. Press the “Save” button and select the location where you want to save the response file, enter a name for the file and press “Save”.


The following screen will be displayed, updated as the install progresses.

When the following is displayed the installation is nearly done, press “Next”.

Note: It may be a good idea to save the installation summary information for future reference. Press the “Save” button and enter the location where you want to save the information, provide a name for the file and press “Save”.


Press the “Finish” button to complete the installation.

Verifying the OHS Port Settings 1. Locate the httpd.conf and ssl.conf file to verify the ports.

The files should be in the “Instance Home Location”/config/OHS/“Component Name” directory.

2. Use the “grep” command to see what port OHS is using for http communication. grep Listen httpd.conf

Look for line that starts with “Listen” and see the port being used. You should see something like this: Listen 7777

3. Use the “grep” command to see what port OHS is using for http communication. grep Listen ssl.conf

Look for line that starts with “Listen” and see the port being used. You should see something like this: Listen 4443

When you install OTM you will be asked to provide several ports for the Web server portion of the install. In order to answer these questions correctly you need to verify the port setting OHS is using after it has been installed. Be sure and write these port numbers down as they will be needed during the OTM installation.


Installing OTM Unzip the OTM installer from eDelivery. In the directory where the OTM files are to be placed execute the following command as the user

who will run OTM. ./otmv631_linux.bin

The following screen should be displayed. Press “Next”.

Note: Please ensure you have downloaded and installed the Oracle Database Client before installing OTM. The download and installation of this product is not covered in this document. Note: Running an xserver is required in order to run the OTM installer in GUI mode. The installer can also be run in console mode by adding “-i console” to the command line mentioned below. Other installation options can be found in the OTM Installation Guide.


Enter the location where you want to install OTM and press “Next”.

This is especially important when the Web and App instances are installed on different servers. Be sure to update the “Web Server External Port” and “Web Server Port” to the same port setting you found when you checked the OHS httpd.conf file in step 2 of “Verifying the OHS Port Settings” section of this document. Press “Next” once the ports have been updated.


Enter the “DB Server FQDN”, “DB Port”, “DB Connect String” and “DB Service Name” and press “Next”.

Note: As of version 6.3.x we expect the “DB Connect String” and the “DB Service Name” to be the same. This is mentioned in the OTM Installation Guide. Note: If you do not use the default value for the “App Server Port” you will need to update the following property in the glog.properties file after the installation is complete. If Web and App are separate instances the glog.properties should be updated on each instance. appserver.port.webservice.weblogic= This has been logged as “Bug 16996951 - APPSERVER.PORT.WEBSERVICE.WEBLOGIC NOT UPDATED DURING INSTALL” and is scheduled to be fixed in a future release.


Update “ORACLE_HOME for DB Client”, “SMTP Server FQDN” and the “Default Reply-To Email Address” you want OTM to use and press “Next”.

Update the “WebLogic BEA Home Path” with the same value that was used for the “Middleware Home” when you installed WebLogic and press “Next”.

Change the “App Server Path” to the correct value and press “Next”. This should match the “WebLogic Server” install directory used during the WebLogic install.

When you install WebLogic, by default it creates a wlserver_10.3 directory, not a weblogic11 directory as listed by the OTM installer in the “App Server Path”. Unless you changed the “Middleware Home” to “weblogic11” when WebLogic was installed you will need to set the “App Server Path” the right value.


Update the “Web Server SSL Port” with the port value you found when you checked the ssl.conf file after OHS was installed. Verify the “OHS WebLogic Home Path” is also correct.

The “OHS WebLogic Home Path” is also correct. This should match the “Oracle Middleware Home” defined in step 7 of the WebLogic install instructions and step 6 of the OHS install instructions.


Verify “OHS Server Path” matches what was used during OHS install. Verify “OHS Instance Home” and “OHS Component Name” match what was used during

OHS install Once these have been check press “Next”.

Use password CHANGEME for the WebLogic “system” user password during the installation.

Due to known problems with the OTM installer you can only use a password of CHANGEME for the WebLogic “system” user password during the installation. This issue has been logged as a bug and should be fixed in a future release of OTM. This issue is documented in the following MOS note: Unable to Start OTM 6.3.x After Initial Installation "weblogic.security.SecurityInitializationException: Authentication for user system denied" Generated in the Weblogic Console Logs [ID 1549075.1]. Once you have OTM installed you can follow these steps to change the “system” user password. "Authentication for user system denied" or "guest, failed to be authenticated" Error Being Generated After Changing the "system" or "guest" User Password Using the Instructions from the Security Guide [ID 1549020.1]


Enter the App-to-Web Authentication Password and press “Next”.

Enter the GLOGDBA password. Be sure and use the same password for the GLOGDBA user when creating the OTM users on the database.

Enter the GLOGLOAD password. Be sure and use the same password for the GLOGLOAD user when creating the OTM users on the database.

Verify the “OTM User Name” and “OTM Group Name” are correct and press “Next”.

It is important that this be properly set as we will be updating the users profile to run the “gc3env” script when the user logs in to the server. This will ensure the user has the proper environmental variables set for OTM.


On the “Migrate Custom Properties” page leave the default value of “No” selected and press “Next”.

Scroll through the list of Optional Components and select any that you intend to use and press “Next”.

After installation of the base product is complete you will need to move the contents of the "docs" directory to:

$OTM/docs where $OTM is the root directory where Oracle Transportation Management was installed.
