Safe, Respectful Learners 45 Spring Street ORANGE NSW 2800 02 6362 7464 Orange East Public School NEWSLETTER Term 2 Week 10 Wednesday 3rd July FROM THE PRINCIPAL P&C TRIVIA NIGHT Thank you to everyone who helped make the Trivia Night so successful! The night was a barrel of laughs and so much fun was had by everyone who aended. Special menon to Bey Botox for pung on a fabulous show and to Carly Brunt and the Fundraising Commiee for organising such a wonderful event. Early indicaons have the night raising around $2000 for the school. PIE DRIVE Our Stage 3 Pie Drive Fundraiser was very successful with 1235 pies sold! This equates to $2827 funds raised (profit) for the Stage 3 excursion to Burrendong Sport & Recreaon Camp, with students aending in mid September next term for 5 days. An explanaon of how funds are distributed can be found in the Term 2 Week 5 Newsleer. Thank you to all families who got behind this fundraiser. I would also like to acknowledge the following people for their assistance in packaging the various orders last Tuesday: Shailee Roxburgh, Melissa Moller, Karly Rogers, Belinda Duffy, Belinda Drane, Joel Johnston, Edlyn Luxford, Stephen Johnson as well as Mrs Press, Miss Croker, Mrs Watson, Mrs Goodacre, Mr McGregor and Miss Frecklington. Finally , thankyou to Mrs McNamara for her work in preparing and processing the order—a very big job! WEAR RED DAY—THURSDAY This Thursday we are proud to show our support for Ronald McDonald House Orange by asking students and staff to Wear Redand bring a gold coin donation. Hundreds of families from across regional NSW rely heavily on the support they receive from Ronald McDonald House. It is their home away from home for sick kids and their families. The annual mufti day, supported by a number of local schools, will help raise some vital funds to keep this service operating. There are very few facilities like Ronald McDonald House which are accessible for regional families. SCHOOL HOLIDAYS Lastly, I would like to thank the students, staff and parents for a great term. I would like to wish all students a safe and happy holiday and I look forward to a wonderful Term 3. School resumes for students on Tuesday 23rd July. HOLIDAY HOMES FOR OUR CHOOKS

We are looking for ‘holiday homes’ for our chooks during the school holidays in a few weeks. Due to Mr Meares being on LSL we need a few volunteers. If you have a suitable enclosure, time and interest please contact the school office. Thank you in advance.

1 PANDA INTERVIEWS (MRS MCLENNAN)

A reminder to parents of students in Year 1 Panda that interviews for this class will take place in the first two weeks of next term. The booking site is open with a number interviews already locked-in. Reminder letters with booking instructions will go out prior to the end of term. ASSEMBLY AWARDS

Congratulations to the following students Jonah Thomas, Sebastian Hewitt, Isla Lanser, McKenzie Coceanicic, Elie Diduszko, Seth Kelly, Ashton Tabbernor, Lachie Harper, Jay Moss and Leo Burns for receiving a sticker on their award sheets. Congratulations to Madison Barber and Logan Coceancic on completing their 50 certificate.

SCHOOL PHOTOS School photos will be taken on Thursday 8th August 2019. All students are asked to be dressed in full winter uniform, including black shoes. If you are unsure or need assistance with uniform requirements please contact the school office as we are more than happy to assist. Envelopes have been sent home with each student. Family envelopes are also available from the office. Please note, all envelopes must have the correct money. NO CHANGE WILL BE GIVEN. All envelopes must be handed in by Wednesday 7th August 2019. School leaders, including House Captains need to bring their badges for photos.

Kinder Enrolments - Enrolments are now coming in for our 2020 Kindergarten, with positions filling quickly. Please contact the school office for more information.

PBL Assemblies - Don’t forget our PBL Awards Assemblies this Friday, 5th July. K-2 will be at 9:30am and Yr 3-6 at 10:10am in the school hall with all welcome.

Homereading - Don’t forget the Semester 1 Homereading prize for a special family lunch at Simply Nile Café will be drawn this Friday. I would like to thank Mrs Kable for coordinating this valuable program as well as acknowledge Simply Nile Café for their support.
