It’s time to be smart about water. Smarter than ever before. The fact that Oras is the world’s leading developer and manufacturer of electronic faucets enables us to say that we are approaching a new era of enjoying water – while saving it. The ease and hygiene of using our touchless faucets is just the beginning: our new Oras Eterna can actually show the ideal duration of a shower. With Oras, however, electronic does not equal smart alone.

Functionality and innovation are present in endless details, defying conventional thinking and giving you the most user-friendly experience a faucet can give. Smart can be seen in easy installation, safety, usability and reliability; in faucets, shower sets and accessories across our range. Yet, while every Oras product is user-friendly, ecological and safe, if it’s touchless, electronic or exceptionally functional and innovative, it will be worthy of the symbol you see above. Smart.

Ecology

Pure water is becoming a commodity we can seldom take for granted. And even if you live in a place where water is plenty and clean, you might be surprised to know that hot water can amount to more than a third of your household’s energy costs. This is why we create no technology without its foundation in ecology. Our first single-lever faucet, designed to save water and energy, was created in 1976. Ever since, we have wanted to lead the way in joining modern technology with green values. Proof of this can be experienced in even our most basic single-lever faucets equipped with eco-functions as well as in our sophisticated thermostats and in our electronic faucets. In its purest form, we label Ecology with a symbol – that you can find throughout our product families.

Safety

You will not burn your fingers on the surface of an Oras faucet.

Nor underneath one: even some of our basic faucets come with a safety-button that protects the smallest of hands from harm. Along with saving energy. Steady temperature is a crucial safety factor in the shower, too. And when you choose Oras touchless, it will be impossible to leave water running unattended. The same goes with Oras automatic dish-washer valves that close after the washing is done. This is why Oras is the choice of families with small children – and especially households with elderly or disabled people. In Europe, for instance, we already have more senior citizens than ever before. So, we dare proudly say that all our products are easy and safe to use. Always and for all. And especially so, when you see the symbol above.

HygieneAccording to the World Health Organization (the WHO) there are thousands of diseases, from a common cold to more serious ones, that are spread by touch, and the number is increasing around the globe. That is why we design Hygiene into every form and function of our products – such as our Oras Bidetta hand showers for personal hygiene. And our touchless faucets, of course. They are easy, safe and comfortable to use without touching. Which also helps in keeping the home beautiful and tidy. That is why they deserve our special symbol for Hygiene.

Luxury is not just elegance or beauty. Luxury is also functionality that best enables you to enjoy water in your everyday life. Our design is born by need and then perfected into aesthetics. It means you can turn faucets on and off at the touch of a hand. Or without touching them at all. Luxury is water at just the temperature you require, without having to adjust it each time. Luxury is a faucet surface that never gets scalding hot or ice cold. In the hands of our internationally renowned designers, luxury sometimes reaches a peak that is simply impossible to resist. Stefano Giovannoni

Born in La Spezia in 1954, lives and works in Milan. Along with teaching and doing research, this highly awarded industrial designer, interior designer and architect has collaborated with companies like Alessi, Flos, Magis, Seiko, Kankyo, Inda, Laufen, Siemens and Oras. He has designed numerous commercially and critically acclaimed products such as “Il Bagno Alessi One” by Oras. His works are part of the permanent archive of Centre Georges Pompidou and of MOMA collection in New York.

Alessandro Mendini

Born in Milan in 1931. This highly esteemed architect has worked with international brands such as Alessi, Philips, Swarovski and Swatch. He works on products, furniture, interiors and installations. He is an honorary member of the Bezabel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem; has won the Compasso d’Oro Design Award, the Architectural League’s Award in New York and is a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in France. His works are on display in various museums and private collections.

Wiel Arets

Wiel Arets was born in Heerlen in 1955. In 1984, he set up the Wiel Arets Architect & Associates studio, then transferred to Maastricht in 1996. He is heavily involved in various teaching roles all over the world. His language is very simple, even austere, but softened by transparency, light and reflections thanks to a very sophisticated use of materials.

Jorma Vennola

Industrial designer, born in 1943, has practiced industrial design in its various forms since the early 1970s. He started his career in the United States by designing children’s toys and glass items, continuing with glass, domestic appliances, packages of technical chemistry products and tractors. This acknowledged designer of high technology faucets started designing for Oras already in the 1970’s, creating numerous timeless classics along the way – and receiving wide recognition respectively.

Kirsi Svärd

One of the best known Finnish designers of the younger generation was born in 1961 in Tampere and graduated from the Kuopio Polytechnic, Art and Design in 1988 as an industrial designer. Along with practicing her skills in styling, design management, brand design and structural concepts, graphic design, model making and design analyses, Svärd has designed items from tiny pipettes to domestic appliances. Both Oras Vienda and the new and highly successful Oras Cubista faucet range exhibit the Kirsi Svärd style.

La Cucina Alessi by Oras

La Cucina Alessi by Oras is the result of a project by the world-famous Alessi and Oras, with the goal of bringing both imagination and utmost functionality to the kitchen. The faucet series includes a faucet combination designed by Stefano Giovannoni and has two separate faucets: one for cooking (two-handle faucet) and one for washing hands (touchless faucet). Both faucets can be installed either on the same sink, side by side, or separately, so that a touchless faucet is mounted, for instance, on a washbasin.

Oras Ventura

Oras Ventura is truly a unique, precision kitchen tool. Being beautiful and safe to use, it’s a dream come true for those who love to cook a lot at home. The touchless one of the two spouts automatically delivers warm water for hand washing, which is hygienic and saves water. This is important, too, when the kitchen is used by small children or elderly chefs. When you need strictly hot or cold water for cooking, you can get it quickly from the upper spout. The upper spout also allows plenty of working space underneath to wash even large saucepans or rinse a lettuce. The latest kitchen faucet in the La Cucina Alessi by Oras family is a single-lever faucet designed by Alessandro Mendini. A totally unique design with a high, sculptural spout appeals to the eye and creates a characterful effect to the kitchen. The faucet is also available, as standard, with a dishwasher valve.

Oras Aventa truly combines modern design with ease of use and versatility. All the necessary adjustments can be handled with a single grip while the high position of the faucet gives you plenty of room to maneuver. Oras Cubista

Art becomes user-friendliness in our exceptionally wide Oras Cubista collection. The design and functionality have been strongly influenced by the geometrical forms of cubism: cones, cylinders and spheres. The range includes faucets for all water points at home: kitchen, bathroom and other sanitary facilities. The speciality of Oras Cubista kitchen faucets lie in the so called timedriven kitchen faucet; the connection valve for a dish washer closes automatically either after three or twelve hours – one can never forget it open. The arching spout of the Oras Cubista kitchen faucet makes Oras Cubista a true center-piece in the kitchen. While creating sufficient working space for washing the biggest pots and pans. Oras Vega

A faucet that began saving water in 1976. That year, we created our first single-lever faucet, designed to save water and energy. In developing the Oras Vega series, the starting point was to use existing and guaranteed Oras technology and to improve the usability of the faucet with the firm and user-friendly design. In the new Oras Vega, there is a compact lever with our eco-button, which makes it easier to save water and energy. When you open the faucet, water first flows at a limited – but mostly sufficient – economy flow-rate. If you need more water, just press the eco-button and simultaneously lift the lever and you will pass the standard flow-rate. Oras Vega is truly the original. In many modern variations.

Oras Vienda

A faucet family that combines decades of experience with today’s thinking. The evolution of Oras core values in faucet design and user-friendliness has formed Oras Vienda into a very easy, intuitive and functional faucet for daily use. You can enjoy a refreshing shower and simultaneously use up to 50% less water and energy compared with normal showers. The water and energy saving function is activated by pressing the eco-button in the hand shower head, which displays a green ring to indicate that the function is in use. Oras Oramix

Thoroughly and carefully tested technology is what defines Oras Oramix. It has been designed for buildings that have several water supplies and a network with plenty of hot water. In such conditions, e.g. apartment and terraced houses, water pressure fluctuates constantly and therefore the faucet must be able to react to pressure changes quickly and accurately. Oramix pressostatic shower faucet guarantees that water temperature stays even, whether other water supplies on the same network are used simultaneously or not. Oras Hydra

Pleasure, expanded. In the Oras Hydra shower, the water becomes beaded and feels like soft, pleasant rain. Which means lower amounts of water than in a conventional water flow. There are two different functions in the Oras Hydra hand shower. In addition to a normal soft spray, the hand-held shower has a refreshing Hydra function, which delivers a strong spray. With the Oras Apollo shower rail, you can adjust both the height and direction of the shower with ease. The chrome rail also includes a separate soap tray for convenient storage of shampoo bottles. The use of multi-technology in all our processes has led us to numerous ideal solutions, such as using the best possible corrosion resistant material (DZR-brass) and technical plastics to prevent the forming of lime and other impurities. 5. The spout of our faucet turns beyond the sink. Is there a way to limit it?All Oras kitchen faucets can be limited so that the spout will not turn beyond the sink. See relevant information for your faucet type: www.oras.com

6. What is the “eco button”?The eco button on Oras faucets limits water flow. The eco button reduces the maximum flow by setting it to economy mode – 60–90% of the maximum flow depending on the faucet’s application. If more water is needed, simply press the eco button and lift the lever simultaneously.

7. What is the “safety knob”?The temperature safety knob ensures that water which is too hot cannot flow out of the faucet by accident. The limit can be set to your requirements, depending on the temperature of the inflowing waters. The safety knob makes the faucet safe to use even for children.

What kind of guarantee do we offer on our faucets?Our faucets come with a two year guarantee (raw material and manufacturing faults), valid from the date of purchase or the first day of usage (as proven by the receipt) or from the manufacturing year stamp. 2. How should our faucets be cleaned?The same rules apply to cleaning faucet surfaces as to cleaning the painted surfaces on other domestic appliances. Faucets must be cleaned using neutral or mild alkaline (pH 6-9) liquid detergents. The usage and dosage instructions provided by the detergent manufacturer(s) must always be followed. Dampen a sponge or soft cloth with the detergent solution. Wipe the faucet and rinse with plenty of clean lukewarm water and finish by wiping dry. IMPORTANT! Do not use a spray can to apply detergent to your faucet. Familiarize yourself with the cleaning instructions supplied with your faucet.

3. Are Oras products certified?Our quality and environmental system is certified according to the international standards ISO 9001,ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. These certificates cover the development, manufacturing, marketing, sales and aftersales of faucets and valves.

4. Can a faucet be installed in a sauna?We do not recommend the installation of faucets in steam rooms. Faucets and faucet appliances must not be exposed to temperatures which exceed +65 °C. If a faucet is installed in a sauna facility, it must be placed as low and far from the stove as possible.

8. What is a thermostatic faucet?A thermostatic faucet is a faucet that maintains the water temperature selected, regardless of the temperature difference between the inflowing waters. For all our thermostatic faucets we use the same fast-acting reliable cartridge, which is even suitable for lime containing water.

9. What is a pressostatic faucet?A pressostatic faucet is a faucet that maintains the required temperature of the shower water, regardless of the varying pressures of the inflowing waters. A pressostatic faucet is suitable for use in facilities which have several water outlets and always have plenty of hot water in the reserve (for instance apartment buildings, factories, swimming pools, etc.). In these kinds of facilities, the water pressure is always changing but there is usually enough hot water. The pressostatic faucet reacts quickly and precisely to changes in water pressure.

10. What is a touchless faucet? What benefits does it offer?Oras touchless faucets are easy and safe to use as well as hygienic. You can’t “forget” to turn off the faucet since it closes automatically. Touchless faucets save both water and energy.

11. How does the electronic washing machine valve work?The electronic washing machine valve is turned on by pressing the operating button. A red indicator light blinks once every five seconds. The valve closes automatically after three hours. The valve is also turned off by pressing the operating button. To turn the valve on for 12 hours, push the operating button and hold it down for approximately five seconds.

12. Is the cartridge always the same for all Oras faucets?Yes, the same cartridge (spare part No. 158890) is suitable for all Oras faucets manufactured since 1982.

13. Why is there a cord pull on the Sensiva shower set?The Oras Sensiva shower set is fitted with a cord pull mechanism. With the help of the cord pull even children can easily adjust the height of the shower.

14. Why do we use plastic in our faucets? Plastic is mainly used for our faucet surfaces and the levers on some faucets. The pressurized faucet parts are always made of dezincification resistant brass.Plastic offers greater comfort especially in bath and shower faucets. It reduces noise and prevents the faucet surface from heating up. Special high-quality technical plastics are selected with utmost care and our products are long lasting and safe to use in a wide range of applications.
