Tile grouts

Brilliantly coloured, high-strength, rapid-set cementitious tile grout for heavy-duty, colour-sensitive applications. For use as alternative to reaction resin grouts, though applied in same way as standard cementitious products. Low-chromate to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex XVII.

Use For grouting stoneware, fully vitrified stoneware, natural stone, cast stone and mosaic cover-ings, to produce brilliantly coloured finish. Particularly suitable for grouting glass and porcelain mosaic or tesserae in swimming pools, wellness areas and damp or wet spaces etc. due to high-grade, brilliantly coloured, though nonetheless high-strength finish. Suitable for exhibition and retail spaces, catering kitchens, canteens etc. For balconies and patios. Also suitable for use in conjunction with floor heating. Optional enhancement through addition of Sopro gold and silver glitter.

System component

Brilliantly coloured, high-strength, rapid-set cementitious tile grout, meeting CG2 WA requirements to DIN EN 13 888, for grouting stoneware, fully vitrified stoneware, natural stone, cast stone and mosaic coverings. Lime-film-free finish ensures brilliantly coloured joint pattern with lasting appeal, for both indoor and outdoor applications, and especially in moisture-exposed areas. Also suitable for use in conjunction with floor heating. Exceedingly high mechanical strength and abrasion resistance, with same appli-cation as for standard cementitious products, through use of Mikrodur® microcement. For use as alter-native to reaction resin grouts. Sopro gold or silver glitter can be added to create distinctive, glistening joint finish.

Rake out joints to tile thickness before bedding adhesive sets and clean thoroughly. Ensure that bed-ding adhesive has fully cured prior to grouting. (Please observe guidelines in technical data sheet for relevant bedding adhesive!). Fill clean mixing container with 2.8 – 3.3 ltr (depending on whether wall or floor application) clean mains water for 15 kg Sopro Titec+, add correct proportion of grout and mix mechanically using mixing attachment to produce homogeneous, creamy grout. Observance of required maturing time is essential!Enhancement with Sopro glitter: Fill clean mixing container with 3.1 – 3.6 ltr clean mains water for 15 kg Sopro Titec+, add correct pro-portion of grout and mix mechanically using mixing attachment to produce homogeneous, creamy grout. While mixing, slowly add up to max. 6 bags (each containing 100 g) of Sopro gold glitter or Sopro silver glitter as required. After 3 – 5 minutes maturing time, remix thoroughly. Consistency and colour of grout may change due to addition of glitter.Observance of required maturing time is essential! Trial grouting with required quantity of glitter is recommended. After 3 – 5 minutes maturing time, remix thoroughly. Grout clean, raked-out joints, which may require slight pre-wetting depending on thickness and suction of tile body, with Sopro Titec+ using rubber squeegee or grout float, applying slight pressure so as to ensure that joints are completely filled. Do not spread dry mortar powder over joints.Allow adequate drying time (depending on suction of covering) for freshly applied grout, then wash down tiled surface working diagonal to joints and taking care not to wash out surface of joint. This improves smoothness and compactness of joint surface. Where necessary, re-wet with clean water during setting process.Note: Pre-wetting of covering and, as a rule, trial grouting to check complete removability of cement and pigment residue are recommended for ceramic coverings with rough, profiled or unglazed finish, for natural stone and for polished fully vitrified stoneware exhibiting surface micropores of varying size. Regularly replace wash water with fresh water. Freshly grouted joints shall be protected against all action that may impair setting, e. g. high tempe-ratures, wind, rain or frost.Hardening process and colour brilliance of tile grout largely depend on a steady supply of moisture during setting. Constructional solutions that encourage particularly high suction, e. g. traditional thick-bed methods for ceramic coverings, may cause colour variations in grout, though these may even out during drying out process.For maximum colour uniformity, particularly with heavily pigmented and dark grout colours, exact compliance with specifications regarding mixing water quantity, homogeneous mixing and maturing time is essential. Ensure that a minimum amount of wash water is used for washing down, that wash water is frequently changed and that no water film is left covering joints. Dry rubbing of washed and stiffened joints enhances colour brilliance of joint surface.Unwashed, discolouring sand aggregate present in thick-bed mortars or discolouring substances from adjoining materials may cause staining.To guarantee impeccable hygiene standards for swimming pool water, the water shall be treated and disinfected in accordance with DIN 19 643-1 (Treatment and disinfection of water used in bathing facil-ities – General requirements). To prevent fungal attack, coverings shall be thoroughly cleaned once a year, in conjunction with a complete change of water.Acidic media may, depending on their concentration, attack and destroy cementitious grouts. For this reason, exact compliance with cleaner manufacturer's instructions on use is required when acidic clean-ing agents are used. See list of tested cleaning agents for ceramic finishes in swimming pools issued by Deutsche Gesellschaft für das Badewesen (German Association for Recreational and Medicinal Bath Industry) for recommended products. Surface to be cleaned shall be pre-wetted with water prior to use of acidic cleaning agents and shall be immediately rinsed with plenty of water after cleaning. For applications likely to involve high exposure to cleaners or acids, or in containers/tanks holding waters aggressive to concrete, please contact our applications support team.For application of Sopro TF+ in swimming pools, please observe following points: Carbonate balance of pool water shall be maintained. Carbonate hardness approx. 10 °dH (German degrees), pH value 7.2 – 7.6. Please observe recommendations of DIN 2000.Cleaning with high-pressure or steam jet equipment after 7 days. (Minimum distance between nozzle and joint > 30 cm).Ensure that floor joints grouted with Sopro TF+ and Sopro glitter are cleaned regularly. Dirt and incrus-tations on joints may impair glitter effect. Sopro glitter can also be blended with Sopro DF 10® flexible designer tile grout, Sopro DF 20® flexible wide-joint designer tile grout or Sopro Topas® DFE designer epoxy tile grout. Sopro glitter shall not be used to prepare other cementitious Sopro tile grouts.

Apply for normal temperature range of +23 °C and 50 % relative humidity; higher temperatures short-en and lower temperatures lengthen these times.

Mixing attachment, stainless-steel trowel, rubber squeegee, grout float, sponge float, roller set for cleaning; wash tools with water immediately after use.

Labelling Exempt from labelling requirements under German Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV). Contains cement. Exhibits strong alkaline reaction upon contact with moisture/water; protection required for skin and eyes. Rinse with water in case of contact. In case of contact with eyes, also seek medical advice. Once set, the material poses no physiological or ecological hazards.
