Sat Apr 30 & Sun May 1 – In the Studio a Photo Session with Ideal Our staff will look after the children; we have just enough room to accommodate the needs of the students so please give the students a kiss at the garage dressing area Our photographer Mr. David Bailey uses a digital camera system and monitor screen and appreciates that the studio is a quiet working atmosphere for both the staff and students. There will be a display board for viewing in the entranceway explaining his pre-paid package options. His info sheets and orders forms for parents to complete are attached and require return by the deadline date.

ORDER & PAYMENT TO IDEAL ENGINEERING Deadline is Saturday April 23.

Please write the DANCE NAME as written below as it goes onto each group photo. The office will contact parents regarding incomplete forms.

Please be reminded that children are to arrive at the studio fully ready, with correct hairstyle and stage make–up. All students are to arrive wearing their rental costumes and in their own *second skin leotard as required.

The same requirements apply for both Dress Rehearsal and the two Performances. Make-up: London Drugs next to Save-on in Willoughby has kindly ordered extra supplies for our needs available for now. They have a record of our make-up requirements at the cosmetic counter. NEW Revlon Lipstain & Balm will not come off on costumes so we are now asking for this product to be used. *Second Skin Leotards: Baby Ballerina 1 & 2 and Pre-Primary and Primary classes will have a *Second skin leotard provided with the costume…it must be left at the theatre on the evening performance with the costume. Grade 1 levels and up must purchase their own *Second Skin leotard if they do not have one from previous years. *Second Skin leotards are a skin toned undergarment that looks like a spaghetti strapped light weight bodysuit, available from the Dance Box and other dance supply stores that must be worn to not only protect the rental costumes, but to ensure privacy coverage of the dancer’s bodies at the theatre as required by our contract. Hairstyles: Please ensure that all students use several pins and a hairnet to secure buns. If a child needs help with a bun the staff will help, but will not provide the supplies. Classes wearing tutus and tutu bases…the bases are kept at the studio until performance time. Shoes: Please put your name in all shoes and clean your shoes with leather cleaner. If shoes are looking scuffed, cover those areas with a light coloured foundation make-up to match. Pointe Shoes: All dancers ensure that 2 new pairs of pointe shoes are prepared now, and that all shoes are clean and that ribbons are either new or very clean. All Pointe shoes that need to be dyed must be ready for pictures.

This is the ONLY fund-raising event we do, and the cause is for our amazing dancers. Performances take place June 4, 2016 1:00 and 6:30 at the Surrey Arts Centre, a theatre with a capacity of over 400 seats per show.

The Academy, founded in 1970 as a division of Canadian Dance World, became in 1988, with many years of success and growing enrollment, the independent school of Cameron Academy of Classical Dance. The dance school provides instruction and professional ballet training under the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. It has now become Cameron Dance Academy with our growth into providing other genres of dance. Cameron Dance Academy strives to provide a sense of purpose and creativity within the community. The Dance Academy, compromised of students from the communities of Langley, Aldergrove, Surrey, and Maple Ridge ranges from pre-school to pre-professional levels. The Academy has guided many students beyond the local teachings with dancers successfully invited to join dance schools and companies worldwide. Our many motivated and talented students developed their creativity as they participated in their art form. Our graduate students established both locally and internationally too numerous to list here include these dancers Kelly Bennis, now co-owner of the Academy, Sarah Brewer free-lance teacher, performer, choreographer in Vancouver BC and USA; Rebecca Goritsas RAD teacher and choreographer in Canada; Tamara Pitts free-lance teacher/choreographer for Ballet and Ukrainian in Vancouver BC former full-scholarship recipient from New World University Florida; We are especially honoured to be the home studio of Sophia Lee principal dancer of Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and Brendan Saye 2nd soloist of the National Ballet of Canada Toronto. We hope the community including businesses such as yours are as proud of their many accomplishments as we are. As recipients of scholarships used to further their training at International Summer Schools and training facilities these dancers above had the support of the generous donations made by businesses and individuals.
