The purchase order was placed by Denmark’s Provital Solutions, which offers SiC membrane-based solutions for larger swimming pools. Provital Solutions’ sales network covers Scandinavia, Singapore, Australia and now North America. Sune Mathiesen, managing director of Provital Solutions, said: “Our company has used LiqTech SiC membranes to improve pool water quality, reduce energy consumption and total operating costs for pool installations in Scandinavia since 2009. Our new pool water solution is now available for full-scale marketing, so it was natural for us to look at the North American market. We are very pleased by the fantastic reception the new pool solution has received. We anticipate additional orders this year and are currently looking at different models to satisfy our customer’s needs.” The LiqTech SiC membranes will be delivered over the next 12 months. www.liqtech.com and www.provital.dk ProSep Inc has been awarded a C$3.5 million contract from an international oil & gas company for a produced water treatment package for an onshore natural gas processing plant in Southern Asia. Introduced in 1998, the Pall Oenoflow system replaced the combined Diatomaceous Earth (DE) and sheet filtration operations into a single process step. Clarification is achieved without the use of filter aids, centrifugation or interference with the organoleptic components of the wine. The automated system removes suspended solids, yeast and bacteria using high area, hollow fibre microfiltration membranes, with minimal labour costs. “Pall developed the Oenoflow system to eliminate the use and disposal of filter aids like DE and provide operational benefits that include reductions in wine loss, utility usage and labour. Receiving our 1000th Oenoflow system order is a notable milestone. It represents significant change in wine production worldwide during the last decade and is a strong testament to the benefits of the Oenoflow system,” said Jonathan Pratt, president of Pall Food & Beverage and Laboratory. The 1000th system was ordered by California-based Sutter Home Winery Inc. To date, the Pall Oenoflow system has been installed in more than 30 different countries. www.pall.com from BluMetric Environmental Inc will deliver high-quality process water at a new facility for a large diversified industrial chemicals producer in Peru. The BluMetric reverse osmosis system will provide up to three million litres per day of processed water, helping to ensure reliable production and product quality. “This is the second large sales announcement in Latin America in this quarter, and the first commercial water system sale in Peru following our intensified marketing efforts in the region,” said Harry Marshall, president of the BluMetric Water Division. “We are very pleased that this element in our strategic plan is beginning to bear substantial fruit, and see this as the opening of a door to a dynamic market.” “This sale validates the rationale behind our initiatives in Latin America,” said BluMetric CEO William Touzel. “It also demonstrates the expanding industry demand for our products and services, as well as the growing range of our technologies.” BluMetric has also been awarded a US$1 million contract for the supply of Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) technology to a municipality in New York State. The client will install three different configurations of the BluMetric technology, and after a six- month assessment period will make a decision which to use as the standard for the entire facility. The complete retro- fitting for the remainder of the facility is currently budgeted to include US$7 million in additional RBC equipment. “Hundreds of RBC systems were installed in the Northeast United States in the 70s and 80s,” said Marshall. “It is a very robust and reliable technology, however this vast installed base is reaching the end of its 30-year lifecycle and all these facilities will soon need to be retrofitted and upgraded. With our proprietary technology and decades of experience with RBCs, BluMetric is uniquely positioned to support a large number of US municipalities as they retrofit and upgrade their existing wastewater treatment facilities.” www.blumetric.ca Met-Pro Corp’s Environmental Air Solutions business unit has secured an order worth more than US$500 000 to supply an air pollution control system to a global developer and supplier of specialty industrial chemicals. The system includes a Duall brand chemical scrubber. www.met-pro.com PMFG Inc has been awarded a US$4.1 million contract to supply separation equipment for LNG applications in the US Gulf Coast region. The multiple separators will be used in compressor station protection and liquefaction processes. Peter Burlage, CEO of PMFG, said the order demonstrated the growing impact the domestic natural gas industry is having on the company’s business. “We expect emerging applications such as natural gas as a transportation fuel and LNG for both export and domestic use to drive incremental demand for our products. This is in addition to the growing use of natural gas as a base load fuel source by utilities and other industrial sectors including the chemical and pulp and paper industries,” said Burlage. www.peerlessmfg.com
