ORDINAL NUMBERS
Para decir o escribir la fecha en inglés utilizamos los números ordinales: primero (1º), segundo (2º), tercero (3º), cuarto (4º), …
Un truco para aprender los números ordinales es que, primero, tenemos que memorizar estas cuatro primeras terminaciones:
1st (First) 2nd (Second) 3rd (Third) 4th (Fourth)
El resto de números ordinales, salvo el 11th, 12th o el 13th, se forman añadiendo la terminación st si acaba en 1, la terminación nd si acaba en dos o la terminación rd si acaba en 3. Para el resto, se les añade la terminación th como en fourth = 4th, como hemos visto en la anterior diapositiva:
5th = fifth 13th = thirteenth 21st = twenty-first 29th = twenty-ninth6th = sixth 14th = fourteenth 22nd = twenty-second 30th = thirtieth7th = seventh 15th = fifteenth 23rd = twenty-third 31st = thirty-first8th = eighth 16th = sixteenth 24th = twenty-fourth9th = ninth 17th = seventeenth 25th = twenty-fifth10th = tenth 18th = eighteenth 26th = twenty-sixth11th = eleventh 19th = nineteenth 27th = twenty-seventh12th = twelfth 20th = twentieth 28th = twenty-eighth

* Cuando escribimos la fecha, las palabras (the) y (of) no se escriben, aunque sí se dicen.
