Prelude Organist/pianist Jeff Burke Call to Worship: Leader: Christ the Lord is risen today! People: He is risen indeed! Thanks be to God! Leader: The empty tomb vindicates Christ's claim that he is the Resurrection and the Life. People: The Love which suffered is the love which saves! Leader: Gracious God, fill your people with joy and your church with celebration. All: Our risen Lord Jesus Christ is present with us today! Alleluia! *Opening Hymn “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today “ Hymn # 302

Opening Prayer: Gracious God, may all praise your name, for you have brought life out of death and hope out of despair. You have raised Jesus Christ from the dead to be the first fruit of resurrection and the pledge of your victory of love over evil. Almighty God, you know our doubts, fears, and failures which we bring to You this Easter morning. In your mercy, forgive us our sins, for which we are truly sorry. Through your Holy Spirit, nurture the growth of hope, courage, and faith within us, that we may forever live to praise and serve you, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Gospel Lesson: John 20: 1-18 Response to the Gospel Lesson:

Leader: This is the word of God for the people of God, for which people say:

People: Thanks be to God! Amen.

Prayers of the People

What joys or concerns would you like to share this week? Do you have a story to share as to how God has worked in your life recently?

Pastoral Prayer leading into the Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
