Oriental Structural Engineers (OSE) is among the leading Indian Highway Construction Companies

From the early focus on airport construction, OSE has successfully completed pavement works at 39 Indian airports. Today OSE has grown to Rs.27 Billion business with three main verticals: Highways EPC; Highways BOT; and Mining Development & Operations (MDO).

Major Works Executeduring the last 30 years OSE executed Dmore than 7600 lane Kms. of National and State Highways in

India and abroad.

• OSE was an active participant in the execut ion o f Nat iona l H ighways Development Programme (NHDP) of the Government of Ind ia , where in i t successfully completed 2/4/6-laning of 11 Contract Packages of the “Golden Quadrilateral” and “North-South-East-West Corridor” funded by World Bank; Asian Development Bank & NHAI in the states of Madhya Pradesh, B ihar , Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. All these works were completed on schedule. Currently OSE has been awarded several projects under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

• OSE has successfully completed three World Bank funded projects covering 197 Kms. of National Highways in Bangladesh during 1994-98.

• OSE has successfully completed one of the largest Greenfield Airport project at LENGPUI in the mountainous terrain of Mizoram in the North Eastern State of India in a record time of 24 months in 1998, under most difficult working and climatic conditions, involving intricate logistics.

• OSE has completed five (5) State Highway projects of 360 Kms. length for Public Works Departments in the States of Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

• OSE has completed one of its kind Formula-1 Motor Race Track “Buddh International Circuit” for Jaypee Sports International Ltd., in a record time of 18 months in 2011. This new generation 5.14 Km. long Race Track was constructed with the latest international technology and latest instruments to monitor quality of construct ion. The track has been addressed as one of best by Grand Prix racers.

• OSE has successfully completed rigid and flexible pavement works for a total length of 85 Kms. as a part of Six laning of Y a m u n a E x p r e s s w a y p r o j e c t f o r Jaiprakash Associates Ltd., comprising of rigid and flexible pavement completed in a record time of 24 months in 2011. This marquee project has been successfully tested for landing of Fighter Aircraft by Indian Air Force.

• OSE has successfully completed 250 Kms. of Four-laning projects in the States of Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra for Reliance Utility Engineers Pvt. Ltd., and Tata Realty & Infrastructure Ltd., respectively. Both the projects were completed within the stipulated period in 2012.

Ÿ Six-laning of Barwa Adda – Panagarh Section of NH -2 from Km. 471.150 to Km. 521.120 including Pamagarh Bypass in the State of Jharkhand and West Bengal – Package-III for IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd., for a value of Rs.7.69 Billion.

Ÿ S ix - l an ing o f Eas te rn Per iphera l Expressway (NH No. NE-II) - Package-V from Km 93.000 to Km. 114.000 in States of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on ECP mode for National Highways Authority of India for a value of Rs.6.59 Billion.

Ÿ Development of Purvanchal Expressway Project from Km. 292.530 to Km. 340.500 from Bijaura to Haidariya in the State of Uttar Pradesh – Package VIII for Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority for a value of Rs.16.22 Billion on EPC basis.

PROJECT EXPORTThe Screening Committee of the Project Exports Promotion Council of

India, a Government of India agency under the Ministry of Commerce,

has granted clearance to OSE to undertake Road, Highway and

Airfield Projects internationally, without any financial limit.

OSE Representation in policy making bodiesOSE is actively represented in the following policy-making bodies of Government of India –(I) O n the Executive Body of National Highway Builders Federation (NHBF);(ii) On the Executive Body of Project Export Promotion Council of India (PEPCI);(iii) On the Governing Council of Construction Skill Development Council of India (CSDCI);(iv) On the Governing Body of Society for Affordable Redressal of Disputes (SAROD) and(v) Member of Several Technical Committees of Indian Roads Congress.

OSE is proposing to transfer part of its share holding of 5 SPVs to Trust named as “Oriental Infra Trust”. The 5 SPVs are handling Indore – Khalghat; MP / Maharashtra Border to Nagpur Section including Kamptee – Kanhan Byepass and Nagpur Byepass; Nagpur – Betul Section; Hungund – Hospet; and Etawah – Chakeri (Kanpur) Projects. The Trust is likely to be operationalise during the next Financial Year i.e. 2019-20.

And still growing...And still growing...And still growing...OSE is a professional body employing, over 200 graduate Engineers, 250 Diploma holders, as well as qualified financial and administrative managers with individual experience extending up to 45 years in some cases.

From a modest turnover of Rs.40,000 in 1971 the company achieved a gross turnover of Rs.24.68 Billion in the year 2017-18 which is expected to go up to Rs.28.50 Billion in the year 2018-19. OSE currently owns equipment worth Rs.6.50 – 8.00 Billion has more than 3,936 lane Kms. of BOT roads with Rs.162.00 Billion of road assets.

AchievementsOSE has the distinction of executing more than four million cubic meters of Bituminous Pavement work; five million cubic meters of Cement Concrete Pavement work; twenty million cubic meters of Base & Sub Base Courses; one hundred sixty million cubic meters of Earthwork in sub-grade & embankments, and huge quantities of Reinforced Earth Walls on National Highways / Expressways, State Highways, and Airfield Runways, Taxiways, Aprons & Parking bays.

OSE has experience of laying 355 Kms. of Optical Fibre Cables on its own highway projects and has bagged similar projects worth Rs.386.50 Million for a total length of 924 Kms. in the State of Rajasthan from Telecommunication Consultants India Ltd.

In August, 2008 OSE established its mining and quarrying operations by incorporating Oriental Quarries & Mines Pvt. Ltd. (OQMPL) as its subsidiary. Subsequently, in April, 2009 a Joint Venture was entered into between OSE and Ackermans & Van Haaren (AvH), a Belgium based investment Company, on a shareholding of 50:50 basis. OQMPL has commenced mining and quarrying operations in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Tripura by installing three crushing units with an installed capacity of three million tonnes per annum. It has a target to achieve one million tonnes per annum by the year 2020. A crushing unit has become operational in Karnataka and planning to establish one crushing Unit in Rajasthan during this year.

AvH is a listed company with Euronext Brussels is active in various sectors such as Dredging, General Contracting, Real Estate, Financial Services and Private Equity. AvH has recently become active in exploitation, processing, distribution and sale of industrial minerals and aggregates.

OSE, through its associate company, SWETA Estates Pvt. Ltd., has embarked upon the development of large Residential and Commercial Complexes and Five Star Hotels in the National Capital Region of Delhi under the brand name of Central Park. It has developed expertise in construction of high quality mass housing complexes using pre-cast technology. Tilting tables were used in casting of elements. By 2021 SWETA Estates Pvt. Ltd., have a target to construct 200,000 high quality mass housing units per year.
