Benefit Enrollment for 2020-2021

► USERNAME: Your first full name, followed by the first letter of your last name and the last four digits of your SSN

► PASSWORD: Your full SSN, no dashes or spaces. You will be required to change your password upon initial login.

► Access the site from any internet connected computer 24-hours a day for up to 30 days from your hire.

Administrators

► Administrators will have a job performance evaluation for the first year and every three years thereafter.

Certified Staff

► Initial License will have a performance evaluation each year for the first two years and every three years thereafter.

Classified Staff

► Classified staff will have a job performance evaluation after 3 months, one year, and every three years thereafter.

► Any work-related injury (or illness) must be reported to your supervisor immediately.

Return to Work Program

► It is the intent of the Cedar Rapids Community School District to identify meaningful work for employees who are temporarily unable to perform all, or portions, of their regular work assignments or duties due to a work-related injury.

Social MediaExpectations for the use of personal social media

District employees should:

► Refrain from accepting current CRCSD students as “friends” on personal social networking sites.

► Be aware that people classified as “friends” have the ability to download and share your information with others.

► Remember that once something is posted to a social networking site it may remain available online even if you think it is removed and it may be far-reaching.

► Set and maintain social networking privacy settings at the most restrictive level.

► Not use a social networking site to discuss students or employees.

► Not post images that include students.

Staff technology use

The following guidelines govern the use of the District's computer network system, employee access to the Internet, and management of computerized records:

► Employees will be issued a District e-mail account and other access accounts required per job duties. Passwords must be changed periodically.

► Employees are responsible for the appropriate use of their District-issued accounts at all times.

► Employees are expected to review their email and other electronic communications regularly and reply promptly.

► Employees may access the Internet for education-related and/or work-related activities.

► Employees will refrain from using computer resources for personal use, including access to social networking sites.

► Information that traverses District computers and e-mail is generally considered a public record. Employees should have no expectation of privacy regarding the use of the District’s computers.

Employee interaction with students

District employees and other non-District employees/volunteers providing services to the District are expected to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Behaviors that are inappropriate unless specifically part of an education, co-curricular or counseling program include but are not limited to:

► Touching students frequently

► Sharing personal situations with students

► Inviting current CRCSD students to one’s home for social purposes

► Being alone in a locked room with a student unless it is an emergency situation

► Meeting students during out-of-school hours and away from school grounds

► Teasing that is flirtatious or has the potential to demean a student

► Sending notes, letters, e-mails or texts to students unless an administrator, and parents as appropriate, are copied on the communication

► Transporting student(s) unless authorized by an administrator

Your Employee ID number remains the same as your Time Clock number.  Your initial password is the last 4 digits of your SS# plus your four digit birth year. For example: 12342017. Sometimes employees will transpose these numbers.  If you have other questions, contact Payroll at [email protected]

Setting up your email

► You must authenticate your account from a district computer when it is your first time logging in. You will use a username and temporary password that will be provided then you will be directed to change your password.
