• Students are required to be punctual at all times to ensure fellow classmatesare not disadvantaged by lateness or early departure from timetabled classes.

• Any class session or activity missed, regardless of cause, reduces the opportunity oflearning and may adversely affect a student’s achievement in their enrolled course.

• At the end of every class, the room is to be tidied up, chairs pushed in, and tablesstraightened.

• The use of electronic equipment, such as mobile phones and IPods, is not permitted inthe Classroom by students or staff.

• A lap top computer is permissible provided it is relevant to the class or got permissionfrom the trainer.

• The use of a dictionary by students in class is permitted.

• Students are expected to use appropriate language at all times.

• Students are expected to speak English in the classroom in accordance with localetiquette.


• Being on Glen premises and consuming or having consumed alcohol,• Persistent disruptive behavior,• Verbally abusive or hostile behavior affecting fellow student, fellow employees or colleagues;• Smoking or the use of prohibited or illegal substances at Glen classes or on Glen or

field/work placement provider premises;• Deliberate misuse of Glen equipment or materials,• Willful or malicious damage to Glen property or equipment.• Arson of Glen property;• Behavior of a discriminatory nature;• Carrying, using or being in possession of a prescribed or regulated weapon or dangerous

article on Glen premises;• physical assault on a member of general or teaching staff, other students, employees,

colleagues or members of the public or behavior which is perceived to be threatening;


• Theft from staff, fellow students, fellow employees or colleagues at Glen;• Slander or harassment (whether verbal, sexual or otherwise) of staff fellow students,

fellow employees or colleagues;• Any student who has been found to willingly or accidentally activate fire or security

alarms which result in the calling out of emergency services such as the firedepartment, police, ambulance or any other emergency service will be liable for whatevercosts are incurred by their actions. Furthermore, students may be prosecuted under Stateor Federal laws in relation to their actions.

• Any student who has been found willingly overloading the lift resulting in itsmalfunctioning buildings will be liable to share the costs incurred in repairing andmaintaining these.

• If you hold a Student visa (subclass 500) and are thinking about changing your course

of study, ensure that you continue to meet all the conditions that apply to your

student visa.

• If you have not completed six months of your principal course (the main course of

study you are undertaking) and you want to change your education provider, the

ESOS National Code explains the circumstances in which this will be possible. Unless

special circumstances apply, you usually need to have permission from your existing

education provider to transfer to another education provider.


If you miss an Assessment:

• Proof of legitimate absence within three working days after the official assessment date.

• Proof must be provided to Admin Manager, not your trainer.

• If the proof is not provided within the time period, then the student will fail outright.

Assessment Dates:

• Must comply with the timelines set for completion of the assessment tasks.

• It shall be student’s responsibility to submit the required material.

• Submit the assessments directly to the trainer/assessor by the due date specified.

Processing the Assessment:

• Trainers/assessor is required to assess the student’s work within 1 week from the date of submission & submitthe result to the administration.

Assessment Appeals:

• Student is required to notify their assessor in the first instance within 1 week.

• When appropriate the assessor may decide to re-assess the student to have a fair decision

• If still unsatisfied, the student can approach the admin department and the student shall be notified inwriting of the outcome with reasons.

Plagiarism happens when you copy or reproduce someone else’s work or ideas without

acknowledging it’s original source.

• From but not limited to Internet, books, fellow students.

• Penalties – receive an automatic failure for the assignment/exam and will have to

resubmit the assessment

• Avoid plagiarism by acknowledging all the sources in assessments submitted

• A reference list must be included at the end of the assessment including all sources that

have been referred to.

• The words of another writer must be placed in quotation marks/inverted commas. The

author’s name, the source and the page number of the source must follow these words.

• Also a serious offence to help another student to plagiarise the work.

Compassionate or Compelling Circumstances:

• Serious illness or injury, where a medical certificate states that the student was unable toattend classes,

• Unexpected illness or death (bereavement) of close family members such as parents orgrandparents,

• Student being caught in a major political upheaval or natural disaster in the home countryor, if in Australia, requiring emergency travel for such reasons and this has impacted on thestudent’s studies,

• The student is involved in custody proceedings for their child• The student is involved in legal proceedings where timing is beyond the student’s control,

• The student or accompanying family member has an acute medical conditionrequiring treatment

• A traumatic experience which could include involvement in or witnessing a serious accident• Witnessing or being the victim of a serious crime and this has impacted on the student (these

cases should be supported by police or psychologists’ reports)• Where the registered provider was unable to offer a pre-requisite unit• Inability to begin studying on the course commencement date due to delay in receiving a

student visa


• Students wishing to transfer to another provider must first complete a Transfer of

Provider Request Form, along with any supporting documentation.

• All requests will be assessed individually, taking into account the circumstances of the

student and if the transfer will be in the best interest of the student.

• All requests will be processed within 10 working days from the date of submission, with

a Letter of Release or Letter of Refusal being provided.

• Notwithstanding the outcome, the student has 20 days to access NTCA’s Complaint

and Appeals process.

• The approval of transfer of a student to another institution does not indicate the

agreement to provide any refund. Refunds are governed by the refund policy

independent of this policy.


Glen will not grant a Letter of Release under the following circumstances:

• The request is within six months of commencement of the principal program

with Glen

• The student does not have a valid Letter of Offer from the receiving provider,

• The student has Financial difficulties or Outstanding Payments for Glen services

• Where Glen does not agree that the transfer is in the students best interest or

academic capabilities

• The new course provider is not a CRICOS provider

• Academic transcripts including information about the number of units the client has

not completed or failed;

• Detailed attendance records and the client’s percentage attendance for each course

• All warning letters and intention to report notices;

• Any appeals submissions and the outcome letter;

• All contact (e.g. phone numbers, email addresses, residential address) and the

DATE the client submitted this information to your institution.


Payment of Fees:

• Tuition fee is the fee for studying your course. Glen does not collect tuition fees exceeding 50% of the

total tuition fees of each course upfront (if the course duration is more than 25 weeks) unless

student has given permission to do so.

• Short courses with a duration of 25 weeks or less are not subject to the 50 per cent limit. Although

Glen is not required to collect full payment (100%) of tuition fees from the paying student, this may

take place if the student requires Glen to do so.

• Students are able to pay on line on our new online payment system from Cohort Go for.

• A payee does not incur any additional charges for making payments through this system.

• Students are also able to save on bank charges etc when they make the payment from overseas.

• The currency conversion is done automatically into the native country’s currency, when the Fee due

to be paid to glen is input into the window.


Tuition Fee:

• All students enrolled into a course who only pay 50 percent or lesser tuition

fee upfront by mutual agreement, are liable for payment of the reminder of

the course fee, once they commence the course. If students withdraw and

where refunds are not due and where balance of the course fee is owed to

Glen, students are required to remit the reminder of the course fee owed.

• Recovery of monies due to Glen, will be initiated and if students fail to

remit the reminder of the course fee, services of Debt collectors will be

enlisted for recovery of outstanding dues.

seeking to

enter into a written agreement;

• commit to securing migration or education assessment outcomes for overseas

students; and

• recruit students if it conflicts with its obligations under Standard 7 (Overseas Studenttransfers).

• make a range of current, comprehensive and plain English information

available and easily accessible to assist students in making informed

decisions, including on course details, tuition and non-tuition fees;

• ensure overseas students have sufficient English language proficiency,

educational qualifications and/or work experience to enrol in the course;

and

• have a policy and process for assessing and recording recognition of prior

learning (RPL), if it intends to assess RPL or grant course credit




• have a written agreement with overseas students or intending overseas students

they enrol, which may take any form, as long as it meets the requirements under

the National Code and the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000;

• ensure the written agreement is signed or otherwise accepted by the overseas

student, or if they are under 18 years of age, their parent or legal guardian;

• include information in the written agreement about course details, prerequisites

and conditions on enrolment (if applicable), fees, refund and cancellation

policies, and the provider’s complaints and appeals processes; and

• advise overseas students of required information.




• have a written agreement with each education agent they engage with;

• enter and maintain education agent details in Provider Registration and

International Student Management System (PRISMS);

• ensure education agents have appropriate knowledge and understanding

of the Australian International Education and Training Agent Code of Ethics;

• ensure education agents act honestly and in good faith;

• take immediate corrective action, or terminate a relationship if an agent (or

an employee or subcontractor) is not complying with the National Code; and

• not accept overseas students from an education agent if it knows or suspects

that the education agent is engaging in unethical recruitment process




• give overseas students information on, or access to, an orientation program

about living and studying in Australia, including information about safety on

campus and while living in Australia;

• Offer reasonable support to overseas students, irrespective of their place or

mode of study, at no additional cost to the overseas student;

• have a critical incident management policy; and

• ensure there are sufficient staff, in addition to academic staff, to support and

advise overseas students who request assistance



• have and implement a documented policy and process for assessing overseas student

transfer requests during the restriction period;

• outline in their policy the circumstances where transfers will be granted or refused;

circumstances and advise them of potential impacts on their student visa

• only deliver online learning in accordance with the online learning requirements for

their sector.




• have a documented process for assessing, approving and recording a deferment,

suspension or cancellation of study

• notify the overseas student in writing of the intention to suspend or cancel their

enrolment

• tell the overseas student to seek advice from the Department of Home Affairs on

the potential impact on their visa if enrolment has been deferred, suspended or

cancelled

• not let a suspension or cancellation take effect until the overseas student has

been given a chance to complete an internal appeals process, unless their health

or wellbeing, or the wellbeing of others, is likely to be at risk.

• submit any proposed changes to the registration of courses to its ESOS agency for

approval at least 30 days prior to the date the changes will commence; and
