Orifice Manual Orifice plate is one of the most applicable and oldest industrial instruments to create differential pressure in the fluid flows inside pipe. 1- In Restriction orifice (RO) type, our purpose is to breaking pressure of fluid. 2- In Flow element orifice type, we want to measure flow rate by use of differential pressure in Bernoulli formula. , 3- Meter run type flow element that use for measuring flow rates of less than 2” pipes. For calculating bore diameters in all types and noises in RO type orifice plates, according to applicable standards such as API , AGA, IPS , ISO 5167 , we use credible soft wares: 1) R.W. Miller and Associates, Inc. The FLOW CONSULTANT TM Licensed Software C1987-2014 Version 6.1.8 2) FE-sizer, version 3.0 3) CONVAL version 9

Orifice Manual

Orifice plate is one of the most applicable and oldest industrial instruments to create differential pressure in the fluid

flows inside pipe.

1- In Restriction orifice (RO) type, our purpose is to breaking pressure of fluid.

2- In Flow element orifice type, we want to measure flow rate by use of differential pressure in Bernoulli formula.

3- Meter run type flow element that use for measuring flow rates of less than 2” pipes.

For calculating bore diameters in all types and noises in RO type orifice plates, according to applicable standards such as

API , AGA, IPS , ISO 5167 , we use credible soft wares:

1) R.W. Miller and Associates, Inc. The FLOW CONSULTANT TM Licensed Software C1987-2014 Version 6.1.8

2) FE-sizer, version 3.0

3) CONVAL version 9

Pipe Taps (D X D / 2)

Orifice Production Procedure:

On base of Pipe and Fluid specification and installation situation, our technical experts calculate orifice plate dimensions

according to standards by RW. MILLER American original software.

Then we made DWG files according to the calculations, and after that the expert order orifice production by order form

to factory.

The sales expert will fill form No. 05FM02 and send to factory warehouse to buy raw material. Raw material will send to

Razi Metallurgical research center to material analyze. Q.C expert will check the material certificate with raw material

and if there is no conflict, they send to producing section.

Orifice parts will produce according to manufacture order and drawings, then will check by Q.C expert and he’ll fill form

No. 08FM01. If there is any conflict, form No. 08FM07 and 08FM09 will fill and will send back with the defective parts to

producing section to reproduce.

If each parts are according to technical documents, they will send to welding section for argon welding.

After welding, Q.C expert will check the orifice plate on base of ITP document and prepare for inspection by third party

or client’s agent.

Finally it will send to factory warehouse for packing with nylon wind and wooden box or pallet and label No. 08FM51

will fill and stick to the package.

Technical Documents:

We offer Orifice meter’s technical documents as a Final book that contains, Calculation sheets, drawings, Material

certificates, Welding PQR and WPS certificates, ITP, Q.C Forms, Project images, Packing list.

Orifice Meter’s Installation:

For installation, installation situation should be noted. To avoid of turbulence, length of upstream and downstream

should calculated on base of some parameters such as bore diameter, pipe inside dia. And type of initial connections to

orifice.

Table 7 and appendix A, shows these lengths according to below standards:

orifice flanges. The welding standard between pipe edge and WN flange should be intrusive welding according to WPS.

For DP transmitter installation, tapping position should determine according to fluid state (Figure A)

Plate handle should place where the tapping and jack bolt are available (Figure B)
