Genre Science Fiction film is a genre that incorporates hypothetical,

science-based themes into the plot of the film. Often, this genre incorporates futuristic elements and technologies to explore social, political, and philosophical issues. The film itself is usually set in the future, either on earth or in space. Traditionally, a Science Fiction film will incorporate heroes, villains, unexplored locations, fantastical quests, and advanced technology.

Setting The movie trailer as is conventional with science fiction

movies will be set in space. The main set will be that of an escape pod this will not be used for the entirety to create a claustrophobic feel to the movie. This set will need to be built but not left as the budget for the movie is nothing cinematic scenes people are used to cannot be created. Instead in order to keep to the genre it must be contained.

Cast As the movie will be based around a single character the

cast list will not be extensive. However in order to create the illusion of age, I will use a small cast of perhaps 2-3. The oldest 40, youngest 12. The entire point of the movie is how to deal in a stressful and life-threatening situation entirely alone.

Back stage I will require two or more hands to run the set and make sure filming goes smoothly.

Music In order to avoid incurring problems with copyright we will

use royalty free music downloaded from online. This could be a wide range of music from instrumental to modern electronic. Mostly likely it will be electronic music to fit the sci-fi theme which is easily found on the internet due to the ease of creation.

Brief Story Line Summary A girl is trapped in one space pod for over 40 years, fighting

for her life completely alone in the middle of the most hostile environment in the universe: outer space. She is put to sleep by the life support which has lost it’s ability to sustain age. In a race against the life support putting her to sleep she must find a way to save herself.

Trailer length 1:30 mins to 2:30 mins. Time needed to film the trailer: 8 hours.

Kit needed DSLR. Sony Vegas Smoke machine. Pod set. 2 Computer monitors. 4 Cameras.
