Good News from Bishop Peter!

Dear fellow St. Marians, Father Todd recently received a letter from our SE Florida Diocesan Executive Board that will hopefully make all your hearts smile ... On Oct. 24th a resolution was passed that "relieved every congregation of paying Assessments for November and December [2017]." Bishop Peter understands that our entire Diocese has been negatively impacted by hurricane Irma and has reduced his own budget to help us all. (Is the smile from your heart spreading to your face yet?) And as long as I'm on the subject of budgets, please note that all your current contributions will be applied to 2017, unless otherwise noted by you. Pledge cards for 2018 will be mailed in the near future. God, you, and Bishop Peter continue to bless us as we work to spread His messages of love and forgiveness throughout our community. An exciting adventure in learning and ministry began for 13 Stephen Minister trainees this past Monday as they began the task of studying, discussing, experiencing

and trying out the skills involved in sharing God’s love and compassion with people experiencing difficulties.
