ORMTC President’s Report June 2016

Almost half way through the year again. What is it about the speed of time as you get older, everything moves quicker except your body! We were taken on another two fantastic rides in May. Nic and Nigel took us on a great country run through the mid-west and out to Cervantes for lunch by the sea and Mal treated us to the unofficial (at this stage) Beer Museum at Gidgegannup – this place will be well worth the visit once they open to the public. Our thanks to Janet and Steve for hosting us for morning tea. June sees a mini exodus of Club officials. Both EJ (Secretary) and I (President) are doing European rides with Adriatic Moto Tours. EJ is doing Romania Bulgaria Turkey on an organised group tour and I’m doing a private Southern France/Northern Spain tour with friends. Look out for our Facebook postings.

Editors Report

Hi all, This month there’s plenty of photos from the rides, which were promptly sent in following a late reminder. Thanks Fred, Nic and Peter for those. I wanted to go on the Social Ride but I went to this guy’s 40th until the wee hours the night before and on ride day I needed to clean up some storm damage from the day before. Finances Nothing special to report here apart from paying less than $500 by avoiding genuine Brother printer consumables ($88.85) as mentioned at last meeting.

Club by-laws as at August 2008

1. All motions need to have 2 months notice before they are voted on unless the 2 months notice is deemed unnecessary by the membership present at the meeting.

2. People on committees do not have to pay for an event that

they are organizing except for their own accommodation. 3. Only financial members of the club can vote. 4. No person is to spend any monies unless prior approval has

been granted by 2 or more committee members.

5. Any money spent and claimable from the club must have a receipt.

6. Members wishing to attend a club event must pay for that

event before it occurs.

7. If a member is unable to attend a Club event, refunds are to be decided by the committee organizing the event. 8. If the club organises any event which requires financial commitment, members who have committed to attending will be financially liable for their share of the costs unless they can find someone to replace them.

O.R.M.T.C. RIOT ACT

This is to be read out at the start of each run

1. All riders are to be introduced to the Leader and Tail End

Charlie before the start of the run. 2. Do not overtake on the left – EVER!!

3. For rider safety a staggered formation is strongly

recommended.

4. Do not pass the leader unless they say it is okay.

5. When turning you MUST wait on the corner where you can be seen until the person behind catches up.

6. When you see someone on a corner you will become the

corner marker unless they wave you through.

7. Ride within your own personal limits and be mindful of the road rules.

8. The tail end Charlie will always be behind the last bike, no

matter what.

Please complete the sign in sheet with rider/pillion details including an emergency contact name and number.

This riot act must be read out before the start of each run. If you

are attending the run and the organisers fail to read it out, please remind them to do so.

Destination is The South West Meet from 7:30 at Maccas Armadale for 8am departure Come early if you need refreshment. There will be lunch/brunch stop Mid to Late AM We will be in a campsite where there are amenities And close by a Shop and a place to buy bbbbooze. If your brave enough for the water bring trunks/towel or if you wish to fish bring a line. Distance will be around 350 K to Camp. Route will meander and is not direct. Braking camp we will head a few klicks down the road for breakfast. Departure for home will be around mid-morning. Back around 3pm Come with a full tank or as near as possible. Speed with camp gear will be cruisey. Have Long weekend rest. Due to the high booking rate for the long weekend it was nearly impossible to get a bookings anywhere near Kalbarri/Horrocks and the prices were high. Also the cops will be out in force around Carnamah three springs and Mingenew not to mention the Brand Hwy.
