Launching osCommerce Templates

osCommerce is a powerful open source shopping cart. This ecommerce solution is an industry tool and is recommended for more advanced users. The osCommerce Templates will setup a MySQL Database, install osCommerce and allow you to choose from custom designed templates. You will still need to use the osCommerce administration interface to configure your store. A link will be provided upon successful completion of this wizard.

Click “Begin,” to launch osCommerce Templates.

A pop up screen of osCommerce Templates appears with the following:

1. Install osCommerce Installs osCommerce

2. Go To Store Open a browser that directs to your store.

3. Select a Template Select a new template

4. Configure osCommerce Manage your store.

5. Uninstall osCommerce Removes osCommerce.

6. Help Launches help files.

7. Quit Exits osCommerce Templates

Options that are grayed out will not be available until osCommerce is installed.

Install osCommerce

To begin installing osCommerce click “Install osCommerce.”

Step 1 of 4 Select a Directory1. Select a directory from “Directory List,” which osCommerce will install to.2. Click “Next” to accept changes.3. Click “Cancel,” to dismiss actions and return to the osCommerce Templates main menu.4. Click “Help,” to launch help files.

Alternatively,Step 1 of 4 Create a Directory

1. Select either “/public” or another directory/subdirectory available in the “Directory List.”2. Enter in the name you wish call the directory (i.e. Store).3. Click “Create.”4. Click “Next” to accept changes.5. Click “Cancel,” to dismiss actions and return to the osCommerce Templates main menu.6. Click “Help,” to launch help files.

Step 2 of 4 Creating a Database1. Creating a new database only requires you to input the Database Password. 2. Enter a new Database Password3. Confirm Database Password 4. Click “Next” to accept changes.5. Click “Cancel,” to dismiss actions and return to the osCommerce Templates main menu.6. Click “Help,” to launch help files.

Step 2 of 4 osCommerce detects an Existing DatabaseIf osCommerce detects an existing Database Username and Password it will utilize the information if it is applicable.

1. Click “Next” to accept specified information.2. Click “Cancel,” to dismiss actions and return to the osCommerce Templates main menu.3. Click “Help,” to launch help files.

Please ensure that the database limit has not already been reached. Otherwise an additional database will be required. Do not remove

or change information within database (i.e. osc_domain_com) using a 3rd party application or Database Manager, as this will cause the osCommerce administration panel and other features in osCommerce and osCommerce Templates to function improperly.

Installation CompleteOnce the install is complete a screen will load indicating osCommerce was successfully installed and will display user information.

1. Click “Next,” to proceed to the Administration panel.2. Click “Help,” to launch help files.

Go to Store

Go To StoreOn the main menu of osCommerce Template, click “Go To Store.”

A new browser will open and allow you to view your store.

Select a Template

To select a template, on the main menu click “Select a Template.”

1. Select a template on the left side by clicking on it. 2. Click “Next” to use specified template.3. Click “Cancel,” to dismiss actions and return to the osCommerce Templates main menu.4. Click “Help,” to launch help files.

Installation of template may take a few minutes. Once the install is complete a screen will load indicating osCommerce was successfully installed and display user information.

Configure osCommerce

Click on “Configure osCommerce” to manage the administration panel of your osCommerce.

The Administration Panel enables you to manage payment and shipping methods, specify locations and taxes, check reports, and customize your osCommerce to best suit your needs.

Uninstall osCommerce

1. Enter Database Password 2. Click “Next” to uninstall osCommerce.3. Click “Cancel,” to dismiss actions and return to the osCommerce Templates main menu.4. Click “Help,” to launch help files. 5. Once the uninstall is complete, it will return you to the main menu.
