The organizations will also work to grow awareness about the rights and duties of employers and workers under the OSH Act and the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals.

In the press release, an OSHA representative noted that tens of thousands of American workers are sickened or killed by exposure to hazardous chemicals in the workplace every year. The renewed five-year alliance program will foster safer workplaces by creating informative materials, hosting OSHA training sessions, and conducting webinars on chemical safety issues.

In the last two OSHA webinars, the alliance connected with at least 28,000 attendees. The program also works with unions, businesses, professional organizations, and educational groups to further its initiatives.
