OSS Air Mgt to Provide HEMS Cover forthe First Formula 1 Racing Event in India

The Buddh International Circuit Greater Noida will host theinaugural Formula One Indian Grand Prix on October 30, 2011. In thefield of Formula One racing, Medical facilities on the fleldand nearbyareas playa critical role and it is because of this requirement, all FormulaOne races have several tiers of medical staff who can respond rapidly. Since1986, availability of Medical helicopter has been made obligatory byPermanent FlA. Even in proposed event at Greater NOIDA, MIS ]aypeeSports which is organising the race has identified local hospitals to stand-by during the course of the race so that very serious injuries can betransferred to them rapidly. A Med Evac helicopter with a doctor, twoparamedics and a pilot will be kept ready to fly during the Race. There willalso be a second helicopter which will be kept ready outside the circuit. In

addition, there will be four ambulances posted around the race track.After carrying out extensive market survey in India, the organisers choseOSS Air Mgt to provide HEMS cover for the Race as it is the only operatorwith a helicopter designed for the role. Before awarding the contract, DrAmjad Deeb Hasan Husan Obeid CMO of FIA Bahraini along with hisspecialist team visited New Delhi to evaluate the Medical facilities availableincluding the designated helicopter VT-ICU.It is a matter of great pridefor OSS Air Mgt that their two helicopters will be providing HEMS coverfor the first ever Formula 1 racing in India.
