Today you read about combining the ratings from observations and walk-throughs using the performance rubric. Once you have combined the ratings, you will have an overall teacher performance rating. On this look-up table, 4 represents accomplished, 3 represents proficient, 2 represents developing, and 1 represents ineffective. In no way are these numbers to be interpreted as scores to replace the wording on the OTES rubric. These numbers are simply placeholders so that the look-up table is easier to read.

A final summative rating will be determined when the performance measures and the student growth measures are combined as noted in the Evaluation matrix or Look-Up Table.

Walk through samples so people know how to read chart. 17EDUCATOR EVALUATION TIMELINE18[1] The board must require at least three formal observations of each teacher who is under consideration for non-renewal and with whom the board has entered into a limited contract or an extended limited contract.Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES)TimelineSuperintendent/DesigneePrincipal TeacherAugust/SeptembereTPES District options, complete set-up screensComplete OTES Alignment ToolVerify principal rosterSend access to principalseTPES - Verify teacher rosterSend access to teachersBegin evaluation process -Growth Plan or Improvement PlanObservation Cycle 1 beginseTPES Log into account Begin evaluation process (Optional and private) complete Self-AssessmentSelect evaluator if above expected student growthGrowth Plan or Improvement PlanObservation Cycle 1 beginsOctoberObservation/Walkthroughs Cycle 1Approve SLOs or Committee Approval of SLOsObservation/Walkthroughs Cycle 1Submit SLOs for approvalNovember - April February/ MarchEnter SGM default percentages for the LEAReview individual principal categories (A,B,C) and modify if neededObservation/Walkthroughs Cycle 1Completion of Performance Rubric for Cycle 1Observation/Walkthroughs Cycle 1Upload artifacts as applicableObservation/Walkthroughs Cycle 2Completion of Performance Rubric for Cycle 2MarchReview individual principal categories (A,B,C) and modify if neededEnter SLO and vendor dataObservation/Walkthroughs Cycle 2Upload artifacts as applicableAprilComplete local SGM scoring and report to committee/principalVerify SGM and observation dataMayCompletion of Observation Rubrics by May 1eTPES-Determine holistic rating for each teachers performance and enter Complete/document Final Summative Rating for each teacherWritten report to teacher by May 10JuneContract Renewal by June 1eTPES Report aggregated teacher ratings to ODE
