Cornwall Air Ambulance has been flying for over 30 years, attending nearly 29,000 missions to those in need of urgent medical attention. We are tasked to over 1000 missions every year and our crews bring lifesaving critical care throughout Cornwall, the Isles Scilly and beyond.
In April 2020, we saw the arrival of our brand new AW169 helicopter a lifesaving ‘Emergency Department’ for the skies.
Saving lives is the charity’s mission. Despite the pandemic, illness and injury were not put into lockdown, and it was incredibly important that the charity operations adapted to make sure the crew and helicopter respond to those in their hour of need.
It costs £5m per year to run the charity which is funded through the amazing generosity of our supporters.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe postholder will be responsible for fundraising income as per an agreed annual target. Working with other members of the team to achieve sustainable income generation and build key relationships within our supporter groups:

This role is a varied one and the postholder should be willing and able to multi-task and complete a wide range of duties, with conflicting deadlines. You will need to be hard working and motivated, with a proven track record of not for profit fundraising.
AuthorityThe Fundraising Officer will report to Senior Fundraising Manager
The post holder with enjoy a high degree of autonomy but will also be a part of the fundraising team in a supportive culture, where everyone is Proud to be Cornwall Air Ambulance.
Meeting attendance may include (this list is not exhaustive)
Project Working Groups Air Ambulance UK Meeting with supporters / potential supporters eg Community groups/businesses Training Fundraising and Charity Shop team meetings Training Meetings with Volunteers Weekly team meeting
Accountable for the combined income generation in the Fundraising Department.
Annual Income > £600,000
The post holder will provide support to the wider Fundraising Team
Principle Accountabilities of the Role
1. Work with the Senior Fundraising Manager and the wider team to devise, develop and implement budgets and marketing plans for fundraising activities.
2. Achieve targets and grow income ensuring that expenditure is kept within budget.3. Cultivate relationships with volunteers, individuals supporters, partnerships and
event organisers.4. Working in-conjunction with the PR and Marketing team, develop and implement an
inspiring programme of supporter communications including updates, key documents and materials for engagement, stewardship and donor recognition.
5. Provide exceptional levels of customer care to ensure that relationships are maintained and developed.
6. Provide best practice advice and information on fundraising to new and existing supporters, informing of relevant charity legislation and obligations regarding risk assessments.

7. Undertake campaign analysis to provide the management team with detailed information of the effectiveness of campaigns, including return on investment and areas for improvement.
8. Identify, research and recruit new corporate businesses and sponsorship opportunities, including the writing of proposals and pitches. Account manage existing supporters.
9. Provide talks and presentations to potential supporters, adapting content to inspire audience.
10. Working in collaboration with a project team, devise a challenge and events calendar, project manage events, including carrying out risk assessments, and developing supplier partnerships.
11. Attend networking events, and build relationships with key individuals12. Working in partnership with Retail Shops to support the local community with
fundraising initiatives.13. In-conjunction with the Volunteer Manager identify volunteering roles and activities
to support fundraising activities.14. Maintain accurate supporter records utilising the CRM database
