The house was built in 1895 by Oto and the father of Uga Jēkabs Skulme. The house can only be seen from the outside. There is a memorial plaque at the building. Struve Geodetic Arc Point „Jēkabpils”, included in UNESCO World Heritage List

On July 15, 2005, the Struve Geodetic Arc was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as a unique phenomenon, the longest and the most accurate geodetic measurement system and an outstanding evidence of the science history progress. Struve Geodetic Arc Point „Jēkabpils” is located in Jēkabpils Struve Park. Measured in 1826. The works were led by Friedrich Georg Wilhelm Struve.

Wednesday market squareThis is the oldest historical center of the city and the oldest market square in the city, where trading took place on Wednesdays. At the end of 2012, the environmental object „Horse with Carts” by the sculptor G. Burvis was installed. Being in this area is an opportunity to get in the wheel and take a photo.

Kens manor and parkThe park was built by the owner of the liqueur factory Alfred Kens, whose company operated in Jekabpils until the 1st World War. The park has a children’s playground and a newly built stage that is used to organize various cultural events. The park is also decorated with a national tree – European larch.

Krustpils CastleSince the 13th century, the River Daugava has been loyally supervised by the Krustpils Castle. Several times was burnt down and destroyed in wars, but always restored and still awaits guests. You will be able to see the candle-lit medieval cellars, the magnificent landscape of the castle gate tower, the art exhibitions.The Jēkabpils History Museum is located in the castle, which also offers educational and practical classes (pre-registration).

Jēkabpils Old Town SquareThe current Old Town square was formed in early 20th century. Symbol of the city – the lynx greets the visitors in the square with the city clock in the centre and the purse, water source and scales pay homage to the marketplace that once was here. Also the story of the city is told by characters from old-day photographs.

Daugava embankment – promenade

The construction of the embankment was commenced in 1981 after the great floods. In the summer of 2011 the embankment was renovated and improved. On the left bank of the Daugava there are special design

Jēkabpils Forest Park and Radži grand Stone

The park was planted in 1966 to protect the city from the dust created in the dolomite quarry. When the 158 hectares of used quarried were flooded in 1987, a new favourite recreation place of the city was born. The Forest Park is located next to Radži water reservoir, which has a Blue Flag beach. Water Relaxation Center and Sports Swimming Pool „Citrus”

Jēkabpils History Museum Open-air Division „Sēļu sēta”

A 19th century farm of a wealthy Selonian farmer: a dwelling house, a grain barn, a small barn, a hill, a windmill and a sauna. The Orthodox Church of The Holy Spirit and men’s monastery

The church was built in the second part of the 19th century in Byzantine style. Its five domes have become a landmark of the city panorama. The Saint Nicholas The Miracle-worker’s church unique with its small size of only 17 by 19.5 meters is located in the monastery courtyard. The icon of Virgin Mary of Jacobstadt was returned to the church in 2008 and now attracts a great number of pilgrims every year.
