In 1873, after completing his studies of geodesy and gathering professional experience in
Munich, Vienna, Berlin, London and Milan, Albert Ott, a native of Nesselwang (Allgu)established his "Mathematisch-Mechanisches Institut A.OTT" in Kempten, Germany.
Even the very first measuring device he developed a current meter dating back to 1875
set international standards thanks to its outstanding quality and precision. This is still true
for all OTT Hydrmet products today. OTTs Universal Current Meter C31, for instance, is
the tool of choice hydrologists around the world count on when measuring discharge. Yet
it is only one of innumerable milestones OTT Hydromets engineers and technicians
achieved in the course of several decades.

ITC: Intelligent Top Cap
With the intelligent top cap OTT ITC, groundwater dataloggers can be cost-effectively
upgraded to complete remote data transfer systems with an alarm function.The data is transmitted to the central data station via GPRS, SMS or polling in dedicated

The float-operated OTT SE 200 shaft encoder was developed based on the proven
technology of the OTT Thalimedes. A float-cable-counterweight system conveys the
change in water level to the float pulley of the sensor. The rotational movement caused as
a result of this is converted to an electrical signal, thereby determining the corresponding
measurement value.

The Quanta multiparameter measurement system was developed for simple, instantaneous
monitoring of basic water quality parameters. The robust and low-maintenance sonde is
combined with an easy-to-use, handheld field display. Apart from the standard type the

measurement in groundwater wells.

Large, constantly growing measurement networks monitor groundwater and surface
water quantities and qualities. Some of the data is being utilized in long-term prognoses
and monitoring. In addition, however, short-term prognoses are gaining importance for highwater modeling and for public notification. A dense measurement network is required for
this, which makes acquired data available online. The logistics involved are usually very
complex from a technical and human resource point of view, and translate into a consider-
able financial burden for network operators.
OTT netView provides exactly the right solution for this. OTT netView is a web-based data
management platform for saving environmental measurement data and presenting it on the
web. Using the http protocol, stations can send their data via GPRS or DSL directly to a
web server where they are saved in an SQL database. Data can then be accessed by
simply using a standard web browser.
