2009 AGM Bylaw AmendmentsProposed
Amendments
In consideration of all the activities in the area of Communications as well as Marketing, the Board recommends splitting the role of VP, Communications & Marketing and Special Events into two distinct roles.
By-law 6, Section 5 needs to be amended to reflect only the role of VP
The Vice President Communications is responsible for the timely dissemination of information both to and from the Chapter membership, using appropriate means to accomplish the objective and is also responsible for the promotion of the local Chapter and IIBA to internal and external publications. They are also responsible for maintaining the content of the Chapter's website.
By-law 6, Section 6: The responsibilities of the VP, Marketing and Special Events is being split out and inserted immediately after proposed amendment (a) above
The Vice President Marketing and Special Events is responsible for the delivery of programs relating to business analysis for each scheduled Chapter meeting. The content of these programs is to be consistent and in accordance with the objectives of the Chapter and with approval of the Chapter Board. The program consists of both Chapter meetings and Special Events. In addition, they will be responsible for the promotion of the Chapter using various marketing materials.
By-law 6, Sections 1 and 2: The table, in each of these sections, needs to be updated to reflect the split roles as defined in Bylaw Amendments (a) and (b) above.

2009 Election Results
Nominations were solicited and received from the IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais membership, concluding at midnight on May 8th, 2009. Single nominations were received for each position, therefore if uncontested the new members will be officially elected to the Board.
As per the by-laws, specifically By-law 6 Section 1, the following board positions are subject to election and nominated as follows: President – Patrick van Abbema, CBAP Vice President, Professional Certification – Jason Oliver Vice President, Professional Development and
Membership Services – Leonard Belanger, CBAP
Also, the following board positions were reassigned to accommodate board member availability and movement: Secretary - Mimi Richard-Golding Vice President, Communications – Lynn Moncion, CBAP Past President – Wendy Larocque, CBAP

2009 Survey Results
Item #1 Financial Audit Reporting Re-Alignment
AudienceA survey sent to all the chapter followers. Twenty-eight people responded, of
which 79% were IIBA members.
Certification
Of the responses received, 53% (15) are planning on completing their IIBA certification.
• Only 25% were not interested at this time, the remaining have already obtained their certification.
Events
Of the responses received, 71% preferred to meet in the evening (4-6pm)
• 18% indicated a lunch time, and only 11% preferred breakfast meetings;
• The respondents were spit between meeting downtown and Carleton U;
• The respondents were spit between pay-once and pay-as-you-go options; and
• 65% of the respondents indicated they are planning on attending more than 4 meetings next year with 25% intending on attending all chapter events; and
• 64% enjoyed the networking open forms and requested these continue.
BA World
Of the responses received, 82% were interested in attending BA World in Ottawa;
• 60% indicated they would be interested in volunteering;
• 90% requested the conference be one or two days in length.

- Issues related to conversion from current system to new/upgraded systems.
- Value of formal training for BA's.
- Project governance
- RACI charts
- BA tools; "efficient" requirements management
- Perhaps Business Stakeholders that can objectively explain/discuss why BA staff are of value to their operations.
- Different presentations on the various requirements definition and management tools now available on the market.
