Welcome Back to Term 3 Welcome back to the new term. It was great to see our students and parents return after a well-earned break. This week, 9 new students and their families joined our school community and I know that like me, you will welcome them to the Keiraville Public School community. There are many wonderful things planned for this term, including the 125
th Anniversary
celebrations and I look forward to enjoying them with you all.
Gymsports Gymsports will be at our school this term and sessions begin for all students next week. The cost of this program has been subsidised through a sports grant and we are very lucky that our students can participate at a significantly reduced rate. Thanks to Miss Pigram for securing the grant and coordinating Gymsports for our students this term.
Election BBQ & Cake Stall Thank you to all the parents and friends who helped out at the Election BBQ and fundraiser and to all the families who donated cakes for the cake stall. The P&C managed to raise approximately $1800 on the day which was a great result for our school.
125th
Anniversary The next 125
th Anniversary Meeting will be held next Tuesday evening at
6pm. Everyone is welcome. Please remember to buy your tickets for the celebration dinner before they sell out. To purchase tickets, go to https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/keiraville-public-school-125-year-celebration-tickets-25922281241?aff=eac2 or visit the school’s website and use the link on the ticket page. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KPS125years/ Thank you to all the parents who purchased the commemorative tea towels. All the money raised will go towards the 125
th celebrations. Once
again, huge thanks must go to Mrs Low who is doing such a wonderful job preparing our school for this very special celebration.
Assembly The next assembly will be hosted by 2H on Friday 29
th July. As always,
parents and friends are welcome to attend our assemblies which begin at
2pm in the school hall.

From the Sports Desk…. Years 3 -6 PSSA Sport Years 3-6 will begin their inter-school sport competition in Week 3. Permission notes for this went out on Wednesday this week. Please return these to class teachers by next Wednesday 27th July. Please note there will be no PSSA in Weeks 4 or 6 due to district athletics and southern stars. Students will be participating in either;
Yr 3/4 AUSKICK or Year 5/6 Mixed AUSKICK at Figtree oval. Yrs 3- 6 girls netball and Year 5/6 mixed netball at Fred Finch Park – Berkeley Yrs 3 -6 boys soccer at Fred Finch Park – Berkeley or school tennis for Year 5/6.
A reminder to the boys soccer teams, you must bring shin pads and long socks to wear or you will not be allowed to play. Please be at school on time on Fridays as the buses will depart at 9:05am after a roll call.
CWPSSA District Athletics Congratulations to the all the students will represent Keiraville at the district athletics carnival. Permission notes for these went out last term and should be returned to Mrs Delaney by tomorrow. The district athletics will be held on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th August at Beaton Park. Good luck to all our competitors.
Sporting Schools Grant Our school has been fortunate enough to secure some sport funding for this semester. Part of that funding will pay for half of the cost for each student in the school for the ‘Gymsport’ program that will run in Term 3 as part of our Physical Education program. This program will begin in Week 2 and conclude in Week 9.
Annual Sporting Recognition Assembly Our annual sporting recognition assembly will be held on Friday 16th September at 12pm in the school hall. As it is the 125th year anniversary, we will celebrate KPS over some of these years and will finish with an afternoon tea for our parents, visitors and special guests. M Pigram Sport Coordinator
