OUR CATHOLIC SCHOOLSDuring the past decade, many Catholicschools in Brooklyn and Queens have closed as middle-class and economicallydisadvantaged families have struggled topay tuition. Something needs to change.

The proposed Education Investment TaxCredit bill would encourage more charitable donations for scholarshipfunds, helping Catholic and otherfamilies to pay tuition and strengthenour schools. The bill would also encourage public school donations.

This bill is the top legislative priority ofBishop DiMarzio and the New YorkState Catholic Conference.

While the State Senate has passed thisbill with overwhelming bipartisansupport, the bill is stalled in the State Assembly. With Governor AndrewCuomoʼs help, this bill could get passedand make its way into this yearʼs budgetfor New York State.
