1 Our Lady of Guadalupe School In the MSJ Dominican Tradition Dear OLG Families, Catholic Schools Week begins on Sunday, January 21 at our 10:30 Mass followed by Open House from 12:30-2:30. Your children have much to show off to you and your friends. Please do join us and bring family and friends to showcase your child and her/his school. Here are some quotes from students, parents and alumni parents. It is good to hear the Good News! From Junior High students: “OLG is like a second home and family to me.” “Some things I like about this school are that classmates are very kind, teachers teach well and are very helpful, and it’s fun to be here overall.” From Primary grade students: “I love OLG because they teach us about God and the teachers help us when we need help.” “I love school because I can play with my friends.” “Getting to play and learn.” “I love OLG because we get to learn about God, we get to meet new people, we can make new friends, we can do fun activities.” From Middle grade students: “I learn a lot and I can teach what I learn to my siblings.” “It has been a good learning experience. The teachers are nice and I love God.” “There are friendly people, good learning skills and students and teachers include everyone.” From current parents: Why do you send your children to OLG? “It’s the best school! We want them to become good people, to serve people, to learn about God.” “A great foundation for her primary years. The Catholic education provides a more rounded experience because of the values. We wish OLG would continue into high school.” “My kids love it here. The teachers make them feel at home.” “It’s a small community, like a second family. The moral values are the most important reason.” “The values were the most important reasons we choose OLG for our children. Also it provides a more structured environment with the personal attention they need.” From alumni parents: Why did you send your children to OLG? “I wanted my son to go to Catholic school and it felt right when I visited. When I heard about the full day Kinder, religion class on a daily basis, Extended Care and Faith Families, I was sold.” “When I walked in, I felt it was a family… a warm caring place.” It does take a village to raise a child. Come and celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe School Village on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing you. In God’s Peace, S. Janice Therese. O.P. January 17, 2018 Issue 19

Our Lost & Found Inventory is Growing!!

Please stop by the Lost & Found cupboard in the school to locate your child's missing items (any school day or even during our Work Party on Saturday, 1/20 or

during Open House on Sunday, 1/21). Many of the items have no name or the name has worn off, so this is a good time to re-label sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts, etc., if needed. Iron-on labels are the best means to mark clothing. We know how easy it

can be to mix up uniform items, so if you do happen to have someone else's item at home please return that item to the school office as soon as possible.

A BIG thank you to Mrs. Karen Bono for putting this inventory list together!!
