My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,
Merry Christmas! – In anticipation. I hope everyone is either
ready for Christmas or else prepared to “go with the flow” and
not let last minute preparations destroy the joy and beauty of
these days. Remember: “Jesus is the reason for the season”
and we, fellow human beings, are the reason Jesus came.
I would like to invite everyone to come and celebrate the feast
of Christmas together. In particular, I invite you to celebrate
Midnight Mass at the parish. Midnight Mass has an intimacy
and power that is all its own.
Please come and bring your family and friends. Don’t be
afraid to bring the children. As far back as I can remember
this was my favorite Mass of the year and by the time I got
home I was tired enough to fall asleep and make room for
Santa’s visit. And don’t be shy about inviting your neighbors
and friends. This is a time when many minds and hearts turn
to God and an invitation from a friend or family member may
be all it takes to change a person’s life. What better way to
celebrate Christ coming to us than to reach out to others in His
name? Each one, reach one!
If you are traveling to be with family and friends for
Christmas, may God go with you and bring you safely home to
us. For all, may the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ
be yours this Christmas and always.

Mi Querida Familia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes,
¡Feliz Navidad! – por adelantado. Espero que todos estén bien
preparados para la Navidad o sino dispuestos a " ir con la
corriente " y no dejar que los preparativos de último minuto
destruyan la alegría y la belleza de estos días. Recuerde: "Jesús
es la razón de la estación" y nosotros, seres humanos, somos la
razón por la que Jesús vino.
Me gustaría invitar a todos a venir a celebrar la fiesta de
Navidad juntos. En particular, les invito a celebrar la Misa del
Gallo en la parroquia. La Misa del Gallo tiene una intimidad y
un poder propios de ella.
Por favor venga y traiga a su familia y amigos. No tenga
miedo de llevar a los niños. Desde que tengo memoria esta fue
mi Misa favorita del año y para cuando llegaba a casa estaba lo
suficientemente cansado como para dormirme y dejar lugar
para la visita de Santa. Y no tenga miedo de invitar a sus
vecinos y amigos. Este es un momento en que muchas mentes
y corazones se vuelven a Dios y una invitación de un amigo o
miembro de la familia puede ser todo lo que se necesita para
cambiar la vida de una persona. ¿Qué mejor manera de
celebrar la venida de Cristo para nosotros que llegando a otras
personas en su nombre? ¡Cada uno, alcance uno!
Si va a viajar para estar con amigos y familiares para la
Navidad, que Dios les acompañe y les lleve con seguridad de
regreso a casa con nosotros. Para todos, que la gracia y la paz
de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea suyo en esta Navidad y
siempre.
