Becoming Catholic – RCIA: The Journey Continues How does our parish attract inquirers each year who consider becoming Catholic? The short answer is you! When any parish has many inquirers year after year, it is the fruit of the Holy Spirit as parish members open their hearts to welcome others. Members of a welcoming and evangelizing community take seriously their call to share the Divine message of salvation. It happens in parish families, in the workplace, in gatherings with friends and neighbors, and in daily contacts. Give thanks to God as he continuously strengthens each of us who seek to do his will in offering a gentle, humble, and clear welcome to the Catholic faith. “Go out into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.” Mark 16.15 New inquirers are always welcome to come, try a session. A new group is currently forming and you are invited to consider. For information on Christian initiation or RCIA, call or email Christa. Is There An RCIA for Children? The answer is yes! Call today to find out more about the process of becoming Catholic for children and youth. Registrations are now being accepted, call for an appointment. Who is this for? • Children & youth, 7 and above who have never been baptized • Children and youth age 7 and above who were baptized in
another Christian faith but now wish to participate in the Catholic Church.
• Baptized Catholic youth in grades 5 and above who missed their First Communion.
The Church asks that children, youth and teens in the above categories participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation. For information on Christian initiation or RCIA, call or email Christa.
Awakening Faith Reconnecting with Your Catholic Faith Have you been away from the active practice of your Catholic faith? Would you like to feel more connected with your childhood faith or learn more about it as an adult? We want to make reconnecting with your Catholic faith as easy as possible. Coming this fall, six basic sessions that will help you to explore, learn, and share with others in a friendly confidential setting. All are welcome. No cost. No registration is required; For more information call 595-0385, ext. 107.
Become an RCIA Sponsor As a sponsor, you will be a companion for someone who is considering joining the Catholic faith. The role of a sponsor is one of spiritual companion; one who prays, listens, encourages, and walks beside another on a journey of faith. Is God calling you to a deeper relationship with Him through this fulfilling process? We ask you to pray about the possibility of stepping forward to be a sponsor. We are also looking for families to consider being “sponsor families” to accompany families throughout the process. If you are active in your faith and have a willing heart, please consider this important role. We meet on Tuesday nights, and sponsors begin their role in the Fall. Call Christa at the Parish Office to inquire.

CATECHIST AS WITNESS TO THE FAITH With all the noise and distractions that characterize life today, it is a challenge to capture people's attention. This is true even when the intent is to introduce them to Jesus Christ and proclaim the life-changing message of the Gospel. A question of trust seems often to lurk at the edges of our discourse, calling into question every statement and requiring that each speaker demonstrate why he or she should be believed. In the face of such cynicism, nothing cuts through this culture of doubt more effectively than encounters with authentic first-hand witnesses.
(from USCCB, Office of Evangelization and Catechesis, Catechetecal Sunday)
Will you be a witness for Jesus Christ? Who should attend? Parish Catechists, Catholic School Religion Teachers and ALL those who hand on the faith to adults, youth, and children through various catechetical programs, Sunday religious education, scripture studies, RCIA, and more.

Gathered By Grace Begins October 7
Sundays, 11:30-1:15pm in St. Michael Hall Gathered By Grace is an intergenerational gathering that deepens our understanding of the Catholic faith and challenges us to live our faith more fully. The concept of lifelong learning invites each of us to continuously grow in our faith by learning and sharing with others in our community. Families attend together. We begin with a light meal, then break out into age groups: Adults, High School Youth, Middle School Youth and Children (Nursery, Pre-K & K, and Elementary by grades). Adults, youth and children experience the Word of God and discover Church teachings. Our kick-off will be September 22/23 in the Commons after all Masses. All are welcome to visit our information tables to learn more about Gathered by Grace (and other upcoming events)! Orientation for NEW families will be held in the Gathering Room after the 10 AM Mass on September 16.
Adult Sessions with Fr. John David Ramsey “Love and Responsibility: Pope St. John Paul II's Theology of the Body” One of Pope St. John Paul's greatest legacies is what he called the Theology of the Body, his teaching on the fundamental dignity of the human person in the sphere of love, marriage, and family life. Throughout the year we will explore his teaching and relate it to contemporary life in the Church and the society in which we live.

Begins September 19 Wednesdays, 9am-11am at St. Michael Hall
Walk through the Liturgy with Bishop Barron and be transformed through insights on this most privileged and intimate encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ. See how the Mass brings us out of the fallen world and into the heavenly realm, how it resonates with a call from God and a response from his people, the Church, and most importantly, how we are intimately joined with the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus through the Holy Eucharist. The Mass will help you understand how to fully, consciously, and actively participate in the source and summit of the Christian life. Contact Teresa May for inquiries about the study, childcare, and registration: 897-1088 or [email protected].
