15th Anniversary of Ordination

Dear Parishioners: Thank you all very much for the amazing surprise party in celebration of my 15th Anniversary of Ordination. Dylan told me that I was scheduled to go the Knights of Columbus Hall to do a special blessing for the Knights meeting. I was thinking of the blessing I was going to do as I walked in and everyone started applauding and saying, “Happy Anniversary”. I was so surprised! Thank you all for doing this. The people who made the wonderful food and decorations and everyone who came to celebrate. I loved and enjoyed reading your cards and opening your gifts. Every card and gift was special from each family. I thank you for all the gifts but the most important gift is your presence in my life. My ordination day is on May 17 and I will be celebrating in Mexico with my family at the Cathedral in Puebla and at the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Thank you for your prayers and love. Queridos feligreses: Muchas gracias a todos por la increíble fiesta sorpresa en celebración de mi 15 ° Aniversario de Ordenación. Dylan me dijo que estaba programado ir al Salón de los Caballeros de Colón para hacer una bendición especial, para la reunión de los Caballeros. Estaba pensando en la bendición que iba a hacer cuando entré y todos comenzaron a aplaudir y decir: "Feliz aniversario". ¡Estuve muy sorprendido! Gracias a todos por hacer esto. La gente que hizo la rica comida, la maravillosa decoración y todos los que vinieron a celebrar. Me encantó y disfruté leyendo sus cartas y abriendo sus regalos. Cada tarjeta y regalo de las familias fueron especiales. Les agradezco por todos los regalos, pero el

regalo más importante es su presencia en mi vida. Mi día de ordenación es el 17 de mayo y estaré celebrando en México con mi familia en la Catedral de Puebla y en el santuario de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Gracias por sus oraciones y amor.

Preparing for Next Sunday The Ascension of the Lord

In the reading from Acts, we learn that the first order of business after the Ascension is for the Apostles to pick a replacement for Judas; Matthias is chosen. In our second reading, John reminds us that if we love one another, God remains in us. Jesus’ farewell prayer in the Gospel before his impending death is for his disciples to be one as he and the Father are one.

The Holy Spirit has been widely expressed by all these young people who were Confirmed last Friday. All of them are wonderful. Thank you for your patience and understanding for the delay of this amazing Sacrament. My wish is that we could have waited for our church but we have already waited too long. Gracias por su paciencia y comprensión por la demora de este Sacramento. Mi deseo es que pudiéramos haber esperado a que estuviera lista nuestra iglesia, pero ya hemos esperado demasiado. Felicidades a cada uno de ellos. Estoy rezando para que puedan sentir el Espíritu Santo que los ha iluminado y que puedan compartir sus dones al predicar el Evangelio donde quiera que vayan.
