Thoughts from the Pastor

Pensamientos Del Pastor

Stewardship Thought For The Week

Jesus said "Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

How do we humble ourselves before the Lord? We try to become an imitation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He loved and forgave. He took off His robe and tied an apron around His waist to wash the feet of the Apostles. So when we love and serve each other we become humble for we see the face of Christ in each other. Open my eyes to your heart O Lord.... Be a good steward!! !

I am your humble servant,

Fr. Charles 'A. Mosley

In our reading from the Book of the Prophet Malachi we read: "But for you who fear my name, there will arise the sun of justice with its healing rays." And that sun of justice is the Son of God, Jesus Christ. As the Lord has shown us the Son of justice, we must open our hearts and embrace this justice. Is it hard, yes, but it is not impossible because God our Father has given us His Son which makes all things possible. Jesus gives us His Holy Spirit which fills us with the grace to do His will to seek justice for all.

Abre mis ojos a tu corazón, oh Señor. Sea un buen administrador!

Soy tu humilde sirviente, P. Charles 'A. Mosley

It is time again to pick up. . . your 2020 church

contribution envelopes. They are available in the Gathering Area for pick up after mass. If you know someone who cannot pick up their envelopes please contact the Parish Office at 844-3438, X221, so we can make arrangements to get their envelopes to them. Envelopes in alphabetical order

for your convenience. ☺☺

Es hora de recoger de nuevo. .

TITHING . . . is a declaration of your independence from the world's economic system and a declaration of your dependence on the economics of God. When we tithe, we are not being generous, we are simply obeying God. Therefore, for the Christian, tithing is not an option.

DIEZMO . . .

WHAT ARE THEY ASKING ABOUT THE CHURCH TODAY

n this Column I will answer questions about the Church or the parish; so whatever you want to know about the Church or the parish Please just ask. In addition we will sometimes look at Issues that affect our church or our members This week I will start a series on frequently asked questions about the Mass.

Sometimes we get so accustomed to doing something like going to Mass that we never get around to asking questions we have about it Chances are you have a few unanswered questions about the Mass, or you may know someone who has question Here we take a closer look at some of the things many people ask about the Mass.

WHAT IS THE CREED AND WHY ARE THERE TWO CREEDS

THE NICENE CREED AND THE APOSTLE'S CREED?

The Creed is a statement of what we believe as Catholics. It is a statement of the Trinity and the basic teaching of the Church. One cannot be a Catholic without believing in the words of the Creed. We have two Creeds because the Apostles’ Creed is the early Creed it simply state what we believe God the Father God the Son God the Holy Spirit . . .the Trinity. The Nicene Creed does the same thing but in greater detail as we came to a greater understanding of the Trinity and the teaching of the Church there was a greater need to clarify what we believe as Catholics.

WHAT DO WE STAND UP AFTER THE HOMILY FOR THE CREED?

We stand up to proclaim publicly what we believe. We profess that we believe in God, in Jesus, in the Holy Spirit, in the Catholic Church, in the Communion of Saints, In the forgiveness of sins, and in life after death. The Creed is first and foremost a prayer, not merely an oath of membership, which professes the creative and saving love of God and how this has been revealed, experienced, and known in history. This is an opportunity to recommit ourselves to our faith.
