NEWS FROM THE NEST On Friday night, we celebrated Halloween at our 8th Annual OLL Trunk or Treat. What a “spooktacular” event it was – and the rain held out! From the rocking DJ to the awesome trunks, everyone in attendance had a fun-filled time, and seemed to enjoy the different location. We would like to thank our Committee Chairpersons Maria Senette and Rachel Jones for making the event such a huge success. Thanks also to the committee volunteers, all parent helpers, and everyone who hosted a trunk or tent, for creating such a safe and fun environment for our OLL families. !

Dear Parents, Our Lady of the Lake School will be assembling Thanksgiving baskets for the less fortunate families in our community. As always, we encourage children to become involved with this project by donating food to families in need. Each class has been assigned certain food items, as is referenced in the attached list. We are asking each child to bring the assigned food to assist in creating the baskets. In addition, we have requested each class to create a Thanksgiving card to be included with the basket. We hope to assemble 33 baskets, representing each class at OLL. Please note, we will kick off our food drive on Friday, November 3rd. In anticipation of the LSU v. Alabama game, students may donate $2 or more to wear purple, gold, or LSU shirts, and all money raised will be used to purchase turkeys for each basket. We will also begin our collection of the assigned non-perishable food during the week of November 6th. The deadline for your child to bring in his/her donation is Monday, November 13th. If you have any questions or would like to assist in preparing the baskets, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your generosity. God Bless, Amy Cowley (264-8217) [email protected] Thanksgiving Basket Project Committee Chair
