Sunday in Ordinary Time “Each day the people are to go out and gather their daily portion; thus will I test them, to see whether they follow my instructions or not.” (EXODUS 16:4) When the Israelites gathered more than their daily portion of manna, the surplus became wormy and rotten. In the same way today, self-reliance, pride and ego leads to hoarding and excessive surplus of goods and money. Living a stewardship lifestyle helps us discern our “wants” from our “needs.” Living a generous lifestyle reminds us that God will provide all that we need and that we have plenty to share.
Catholic Women’s Council
Celebrate 100 years!!
Over the years the Catholic Women’s
Council has served as hostess for the St.
Denis Parish whenever the need arises.
Our members have provided and served
refreshments after Reconciliation, First
Eucharist, Confirmation and Baccalaureate. Since
1984 we have been preparing and serving the Seder
Supper.
We have contributed funds for many items for our
church, including a TV/VCR, a copier, new vestments
for our priests/deacon, and a new floor in Keresey
Hall.
The Council has recognized parents on Mothers Day
and Fathers Day. We deliver flowers to our members
in nursing homes, donate toward flowers for the altar
at Christmas and Easter, donate to the Giving Tree and
donate to the Food Bank.
In 1959 the first kindergarten in Douglas was started
by the CWC. Since 1961 the CWC has awarded
scholarships to deserving graduating high school sen-
iors from St. Denis parish.
The Catholic Women’s Council sponsors the Moth-
ers Love Program, Day of Prayer, Cash Calendar
Raffle, and Holiday Fair.
We are proud to carry on the good works and
traditions started one hundred years ago by the
women of St. Denis Church.
ST. DENIS RECTORY RENOVATION
Dear brothers and sisters,
I join our Pastoral Council and Finance Committee in thanking you for your donations to the rectory’s renova-tion efforts.
This past week we received an additional $3,600 in donations toward the efforts to renovate our parish Rectory. We are very grateful for the continued support of this effort.
Thank you to the many volunteers who have been working tirelessly to help make this renovation happen.
We hope that we can count on more donations since we are still in need of funding for this project. Nonethe-less, money is not the only way you can help. We would be happy to have you join our volunteer team.
Thank you again for your generosity and support.
May the Lord bless you abundantly!
With gratitude,
Fr. Juan

Mission Statement
As a faith-filled community of believers, we the people
of St. Denis Parish, are centered on being active
witnesses to God’s presence among us.
We extend an invitation and welcome to all, by
encouraging weekly participation at Mass and by
offering many opportunities for everyone to share their
God-given talents.
It is through loving and serving one another, that we
are transformed on our way to becoming a disciple of
Christ, who left us our mission “to go forth and make
disciples of all nations.” (Mt 28:19)
