DEACON NEAL’S REFLECTION CORNER

Today we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday of the Church year. So what is the Gospel about? Jesus hanging on a cross. Jesus had even said that he would be lifted up. Is this what he meant? That he would be lifted up, on a cross? Absolutely!!! Jesus humbled himself and became one of us. He was God. He didn't have to do it. He humbled himself and took on our sinfulness and suffers a death by crucifixion on a cross, and we call him KING? Absolutely. He is lifted up on the cross, so that we can see what true love is. He is a God that loves us so much, that he wanted to go through what we can possibly go through, while we are on earth. The greatest example of true love was by a God that loves us more than we can ever know. When we see him on that cross, we see love. We see OUR KING!!! He has conquered death by his death. Can we honor our king? Let's give it our best effort.

God Bless, Deacon Neal
