Kowkabany's Family Martial Arts - Our Philosophy Kowkabany's Family Martial Arts has a fairly simple philosophy in our martial ar ts school. The Kowkabanys believe that the job of martial arts instructors is to help every student to develop the specific gifts they have been given by God so that they can become their best, physically and mentally. Kowkabany's Martial A rts helps their students to be successful, not just on the training floor, but a lso at home, in school and in the workplace. The physical training of taekwondo is the instrument martial arts uses to develo p an individual. The life skills we teach include integrity, respect, goal-setti ng, courtesy, self-discipline, loyalty, self-control, and honor. Taekwondo is mu ch more than a "sport," it is an art, which evolves along with the student depen ding on where that student is in life. Our martial arts family center has an open and friendly environment, starting wi th students as young as three years old; many of the students in our academy are training with family members. There are very few avenues available where parent s and their children can workout together, and we find this quality time spent t ogether is wonderful for building traditional family unity. Kowkabany's Martial Arts school is a member of the American Taekwondo Associatio n, and is therefore known as an ATA Martial Arts Academy. We take pride in a sta ndard of excellence and regulation unequaled in our industry, a standard met in every one of our 1500 schools nationwide. As an example of what sets our organiz ation apart, the ATA even awards college scholarships. In fact, over the past 2 years, three of our students have earned scholarships ranging from $50 0 up to $ 3000. Kowkabany's family martial arts teach traditional values in a family atmos phere, and we firmly believe that we provide the highest quality teaching availa ble anywhere. You do not have to be athletic or have any special skills to learn Taekwondo. Yo u do not have to get in shape before you start training, we will take care of th at for you.We have trained students in their 50's to become world champions as w ell as instructors; and if you are interested in competition, our Black Belts ha ve won numerous world and state titles! All you need to begin is a positive attitude and the willingness to try somethin g new. Taekwondo is an art that trains students mentally and physically to be th eir best. You are encouraged to watch or try a class, to talk with our students, and to ask us any questions you may have. Kowkabany's Family Martial Arts has a fairly simple philosophy in our martial arts school.
