CONFIRMATION 2014 Confirmation Preparation begins in May and for planning purposes, we would like to begin receiving Confirmation Registration Forms. In requesting the Sacrament of Confirmation your child should be in Grade 7 or 8 (or older) and have received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Please call the parish office if registering for Confirmation but your child has not received one of these sacraments. Registration forms are available in the pamphlet

racks at the centre doors to the Cathedral.

A Reflection on the Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time Today's first reading from Leviticus and

the Gospel from Matthew starkly call us

to the perfection of God in loving and

forgiving not just those who already

love us, but our enemies as well. This is

the wisdom of God that Paul calls the

Corinthians to embrace in today's

second reading. In his life among us, and especially in

his passion and death, Christ presents to us a radically

different vision of life than the one the world calls us

to embrace. But His Resurrection calls us to a life

marked by forgiveness and mercy.

Our Extraordinary Ministers of

Holy Communion for the home have

the rewarding experience of bringing

the Eucharist to the homebound and

infirm as delegated representatives of

the Pro-Cathedral parish community. Visits are

approximately 10-20 minutes and consist of

praying with the residents, providing the Eucharist

and sharing the parish bulletin with them.

There are times when a Minister is unable to visit

due to vacation, illness or no longer being able to

serve. When this happens, the people who require

this service go without receiving Holy Communion

that week. We are in need of additional

parishioners willing to serve as Extraordinary

Ministers of Holy Communion. If you are

interested in serving in this very special ministry,

please call Karen in the parish office.
