Control software
The laser processes are programmed by the LASEA control software, KYLA™. This software package
controls all the devices and material functions (as they come standard or as options) offered by LASEA.
A complete version of KYLA™ is supplied with every LASEA machine. A simplified version named
EasyKYLA™ can be specially configured for use by a production operator.
On the basis of .dxf, .stl, .jpeg, .bmp files or a fresh file creating text objects, barcodes or geometric
shapes, it is possible to very quickly obtain a 2D or 3D track ready to be executed. The software auto-
matically transcribes the image, text, or diagram created into movement vectors for the scanner or axes.
The user-friendly graphical interface enables the beam trajectories and also the parameters to be
displayed and the laser parameters to be controlled. This graphical interface can also be replaced by
an interface in the form of movement commands of the G-code type.

Laser Sources The most powerful femtosecond laser on the market
LASEA can integrate many laser sources in our machines in order to closely match the specifications
of our clients. LASEA is a pioneer in the integration of femtosecond lasers in industrial installations.
Ultrashort lasers have emerged as important tools in scientific and industrial fields. Fiber lasers offer
very attractive prospects for obtaining a high average power.
We also use nanosecond laser sources, as well as high power sources for most thermal applications
such as welding, while being infrared, ultraviolet or visible.
LASEA has forged strong links with the best suppliers of laser sources such as Amplitude Systèmes
for femtosecond lasers, IPG Photonics and Synrad for nanosecond lasers.
Amplitude Systèmes relies on innovative developments in the field of the conception of fibers and
laser amplifiers. The French company offers a range of ultrafast fiber lasers that simultaneously delivers
high average power and high output power. The Satsuma, Yuja and Tangor are high energy fiber lasers
which deliver ultrashort pulses (up to 250 fs), a high rate (2MHz or more), a high power (the 100 W Tan-
gor makes it the most powerful femtosecond laser on the market) and high energy per pulse up to 300
µJ. There are integrated in a compact and highly stable mechanical structure.
LASEA’s FL range of fiber laser systems (from 10 to 100W) includes a pulsed IPG laser with very high
reliability (MTBF > 100,000 h). This laser delivers a high power laser beam with a pulse duration of 4 to
200ns in order to benefit a maximum energy and to adapt to sensitive materials with short and high
speed pulses.

Laser Sources To answer better at the demand of our clients, LASEA laser machines can be equipped with other types of lasers: CO2 laser, fiber coupled to a laser diode or DPSS laser.
• The CL range are CO2 laser sources that delivers a high power laser beam (from 10 to 100W)
focused to a point of a few hundred microns in diameter. CO2 CL systems are a great compromise
between fast machining, reliable machining and affordable cost.
• The DL range integrates a laser diode module that delivers a high power laser beam (from 30 to
100W) with a selected wavelength of 980nm. The DL sources produce a very high density beam
and allows the welding of almost all thermoplastics.
• The VL range integrates a wavelength tripled DPSS laser. It allows polymers to be marked which
cannot be marked with infra-red lasers but also heat sensitive parts to be cut or engraved, all at a
lower cost than for ultra-short pulse lasers.
Our lasers are designed specifically for easy and fast integration into our machines or in specific
environments of our customers. The LASEA laser systems can be combined with our LS-Scan
scanner head to get even more speed and accuracy in your machining. Our laser systems require
no consumables and are capable of machining on a wide range of materials such as metals, plastics
or organic materials.

LS-Scan LS-Scan, laser machining head The LS-Scan, the result of LASEA engineer’s research, is a machining head placed above the part to
be machined and directs the beam in three dimensions at high speed and with unequalled accuracy
using two motorized mirrors for the X and Y directions and a motorized lens for the Z direction.
With very low power consumption, heat generation and weight, its motors reduce thermal drifts and
offer acceleration ramps about 20% greater than the best traditional moving magnet motors.
Thanks to these performances, the laser power can be used without degrading the machining accuracy
and hence the cycle time can be reduced. This system is controlled by our software KYLA™.

LS-Precess LS-Precess, laser beam precession moduleDuring a laser drilling or a laser cutting, a taper angle is naturally induced. It impacts the maximum
depth of the holes and prevent cutting of functional parts such as some watch components. To counter
this taper, LASEA’s engineers designed the LS-Precess, a module that induce a precession of the
laser beam to machine with defined tapers (positive, zero or even negative).
The LS-Precess incorporates a motorized setting of its incidence angle on the part in order to obtain
easily the desired cutting or drilling angle. Different focus lenses can be used to provide even more
flexibility to the process and work with the largest fields of the market.
The alignment of the module is extremely simple and fast as the LS-Precess is virtually "plug & play"
and can be placed on the optical path with ease. The module bypass is also very simple and could
be made in less than two seconds.
As all other LASEA modules, the LS-Precess is controlled by our KYLA™ software.
