從十月至十二月，眾膳坊與社會上不同團體舉行了各類型活動，讓公眾人士參加，以增加社會上對眾膳坊的服務以至對香港貧窮人士的認識。希望你們能透過我們的相片體驗到當中的樂趣！未來我們希望能繼續透過不同的活動，與你們一起為有需要的人士盡一點綿力！From October to December 2010, the People’s Food Bank organized a range of activities to promote awareness of the general public towards our services, the needs of the deprived people and poverty issues in Hong Kong. We look forward to working hand in hand with you on future programmes to help the needy people of Hong Kong!

任職酒樓的梁先生（化名）與母親、太太、兒子及女兒居於環境狹窄的套房內，每月只依靠梁先生的微薄而不穩定的收入過活，加上子女的學費和母親的醫療費，令他們一家承受沈重的經濟壓力。梁先生（面帶微笑）：「有依個服務真係好好，幫我地慳左食物既金錢，可以用喺其他地方度！」Mr. Leung (alias), working in the restaurants and earning an irregular income, is the breadwinner and lives with the whole family in a very small suite. Tuition fees for his children and the medical expenses of his mother add to the economic burden on Mr. Leung.

‘With the help of the People’s Food Bank services, I can save money on food and spend on other areas for children and the family,’ said Mr. Leung.

葉女士（化名）一家五口一直居於環境狹窄的套房，兩名女兒於晚上時皆需睡在地上，每月依靠任職司機的丈夫賺取微薄的收入。她的幼女患有輕度智障，十月初剛被分配到特殊幼稚園，需額外自費言語治療服務，左耳管道也出現閉塞的現象，加上需支持剛回內地的老爺生活費，經濟壓力實是沉重。葉女士：「雖不是大富大貴，生活亦面對重重困難，但只要身體健康，積極面對困境，才不枉食物銀行的幫助。」Ms Yip (alias) lives in a suite that is so small her daughters aged 5 and 8 need to sleep on the floor every night. They live on the low income of her husband who is a driver. Her younger daughter is mild mentally retarded, and attends

a special kindergarten, which incurs extra special expenses on speech therapist services. Her family is under heavy financial stress. Ms Yip said: “Although we are not rich and face a lot of difficulties in life, as long as we are in good health and optimistic, we can manage this struggle with the support of the People’s Food Bank.”

渣打的同事在活動共享日中擔當義工，負責攤位遊戲及進行義賣，為眾膳坊籌款，同場加插親子扮演比賽，增添氣氛。Colleagues of Standard Chartered Bank (HK) worked as volunteers in our booth activities and charity sales. There was also a parent-children role play competition which made for light-hearted atmosphere.

這是百年樹人會與大快活集團及眾膳坊第三年攜手舉辦餐券捐贈行動，今年籌得善款總值港幣200,000元，並配對大快活集團的一對一善款，為是次活動籌得總值港幣400,000元的食物餐券。This is the third year of cooperation between the League of Ordinary Gentlemen, Fairwood Holdings Limited and St. James’ Settlement in organizing meal coupons donations. This year the collaboration succeeded in raising $200,000 and buying meal coupons worth $400,000 in Fairwood Holdings Limited for the deprived group of people in Hong Kong.

眾膳坊由2003年起為全港有需要人士提供短期緊急食物援助服務。我們通過眾膳飯堂、助苗奶粉資助計劃、「友膳堂」長者午膳資助計劃及利希慎食物援助計劃，為未能解決「三餐」基本需要的人士及家庭，提供緊急及短暫的膳食援助。

於2010年1月1日推出長期食物援助服務，為低收入家庭、清貧長者、長期病患者及新來港人士提供最長1年期的長期食物援助服務，截至現時，本服務已為275 位提供食物援助，此服務得以順利運作，有賴利希慎基金會及大鴻輝慈善基金資助，為社會上有需要人士提供適切服務。

以下個案分享雖只呈現香港貧窮問題的冰山一角，但我們希望透過這些分享，讓大家體驗到同一天空下的香港人另類生活。People’s Food Bank has been serving needy people in Hong Kong since 2003. We provide food to people in need on a short-term and weekly basis, through four of our schemes, namely: the People’s Canteen, Hot Meal Service for Elderly, Nurturing the Children: Milk Powder Sponsorship Scheme and Lee Hysen Food Assistance Program.We have started to provide long-term food assistance scheme to those people in need for one year since 1 Jan 2010. Up till now, there are 275 service users, which include low income families, deprived elderly, patients with chronic diseases and new arrivals. We are grateful to elicit support from Lee Hysen Foundation and Tai Hung Fai Charity Foundation, in order to continue providing services for needy people in Hong Kong.The following stories present the lives of other Hong Kong people, who live under the same sky with us. Their difficult lives reveal only tip of the iceberg of the poverty issue in Hong Kong. Therefore, we need your support to serve more people who are hidden under the mask of glamorous city life in Hong Kong.

於2010年8月23日至2010年9月10日眾膳坊推行了月餅轉贈計劃，反應非常熱烈，今年共收集到7,761個月餅，這些月餅已悉數轉贈予貧困家庭享用。希望他們在中秋節同樣感受到節日氣氛與歡樂。在此感謝社會各界共同參與和支持。From August 23 to September 9, our 'Moon Cakes Transfer Program 2010' generated good results. All in all we collected 7,761 moon cakes which were distributed throughout Hong Kong to those people who were in need of them. We sincerely hope they enjoyed a warm atmosphere and had a joyous time during the festival. Many thanks to our donors for their generosity.

一直以來，眾膳坊都獲得各界人士的協助。近三個月也有不少團體及公司到我們的中心參與義工活動，協助我們的工作。在此，再次感謝各位的支持和幫助，亦為社區上有需要的人士提供支援！People’s Food Bank receives assistance from the local community from time to time. 是次活動希望於聖誕節，呼籲青年朋友到青年廣場捐贈食物及回收膠樽及禮物，既能做到關心身邊人又能做到「愛地球」。This activity aimed to ask young people in Hong Kong to come to Youth Square to donate food and recycle plastic bottles. They could also donate Christmas presents. The activity aimed to encourage them to love the people beside them and love our earth.

雖然中秋節還未來臨，我們已收到了聖雅各福群會送來的月餅，我們很高興也很感激因為這是今年我們一家過中秋節的第一個收到的禮物。其實，聖雅各福群會經常幫助我們這一家，並給我們食物，例如米、麵及罐頭等。在我們最困難的時候，總是有“妳＂出現幫助我們，給我們在生活上最好的保障。我希望長大後也能參加聖雅各福群會的一份子，幫助更多有困難的家庭。

Mid-Autumn Festival had not yet come, but we received moon cakes from St. James’ Settlement. We were grateful and thankful because it was the first gift we received at Mid-Autumn this year. In fact, we have received help from St. James’ Settlement many times, including food such as rice, noodles and canned food. In our time of greatest difficulty, you have always supported us and helped us to protect our lives. I hope that when I grow up I can be a member of St. James’ Settlement and can help many families in need.

雖然中秋節還未來臨，我們已收到了聖雅各福群會一位低收入兼長期病患的爸爸，表示十分感激捐贈者，令他的孩子可以在中秋節得到別人的關懷，雖然他自己本身患糖尿病，不能吃月餅，但是他一向覺得月餅是象徵家人團圓，對此感到溫暖，家人亦十分高興，因他們實在支付不起購買月餅的費用。他十分感謝捐贈者，他亦很希望捐贈者也能在感受節日的喜悅！A low income father who suffers from chronic illness expressed his thankfulness to the

donors that show their concern to his children during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Although the father cannot eat moon cake because he is diabetic, the moon cake as a symbol of the whole family was heart-warming to him. He also expressed his great gratitude again to the donors and hopes all donors enjoyed the festival.

曾女士與丈夫兩人的感情一向不好，平日甚少溝通，而且丈夫需要長時間工作，曾女士又沒有親友在港，以至曾女士的生活比較孤獨。當社工送贈月餅時，曾女士既感激送贈月餅的機構和善心人，也覺得受到重視，同時亦開始願意開放自己去接受別人的關懷。Mrs. Tsang has a poor relationship with her husband, but she seldom opens up and talks about her feelings with others. She does not have any relatives in Hong Kong either and feels very lonely. When the social worker gave moon cakes to her, she not only thanked to donor and

our organization, but also felt the respect and concern of others. Finally, she started to open her mind to accept a helping hand and care from others.

於2010年12月4日至2011年1月4日，眾膳坊於挪亞方舟舉行一個名為「挪亞食物迷宮迎聖誕」的活動，看看以下兩位義工參與後的感想！From 4 Dec 2010 to 4 Jan 2011, People’s Food Bank has organized a program called “Christmas is the season to give- Food Maze in Noah’s Ark”. Let’s see how the volunteers feel after helping in this activity!

陳詠琳：在這次活動中，體驗到原來除了香港人以外，其他在外地居住的人同樣很有善心。雖然參觀者第一次接到我們的宣傳單張時態度有點冷淡，但最後他們都有參加和捐錢。最開心的是在今日工作時間快完的時候，我派過傳單的一家人到來玩食物迷宮，而且還記得我，使我感到溫暖。Ms. Chan, ‘Through this activity, I felt that not only Hong Kong people, but also visitors from foreign countries are generous. Though they might not show their interest in the food maze at first, they would still donate money and play in the food maze. The most memorable experience was that a family whom I delivered the leaflets to came and played in the food maze near the end of the day, and they still remembered me. This made me feel really warm!’

鄭文敏：經過這幾次的義工服務，我認識更多有關食物銀行的事情，明白到食物銀行是協助有需要的人，提供食物給他們。因此，食物銀行需要有心人作出捐獻，才可以買更多食物，幫助有需要的人。這次食物迷宮的活動，令更多人認識到食物銀行的性質，又能給予人們途徑捐獻，實在有意義！‘After helping few days, I know more about the services of People’s Food Bank which provides food to people in need. Therefore, the food bank needs donation from the community in order to buy more food to the needy. Besides, this program provides people with the opportunity to learn about the nature of food bank and to make contribution. It’s really meaningful!’ Ms. Cheng said.
