THE SHAPE OF THE EARTH people believed that the earth was a

flat land with water in some of its parts belief changed after the studies

conducted by several scientists Aristotle and Pythagoras said that the

earth’s shape was that of a sphere

in the third century, Erasthotenes of Cyprene gave the size of the earth, but it was not the exact size

research and studies continued in order to find out the exact size and shape of the earth

Sir Isaac Newton conducted a research proved that the earth is not exactly

round, it is oblate spheroid
