• Make sure that each person in your group knows where to go incase they get lost.

• Some skills you will need to know are to be able to read a compass, build a temporary shelter, and give first aid.

• You and your group should practice the skills before you and your group start the hike.

• You should also make shore that you are able to stand the strain of the activity. Before starting the hike or activity you and your group should always do warm ups before starting. You and your group should start of at a slow pace and gradually get faster.

• The clothing that you where is very important.

• For example if it was going to snow you would not want to wear a tee shirt and shorts.

• Make sure that you and each person in your group have a jacket if it is a little cold.

• Make sure that you inspect you equipment be for each of your trips and each time you use the equipment.

• Make sure that you packed all the things that you will need on your trip.

• Keep a eye on the current weather conditions. A good thing to do is check the weather the day before you go on your trip.

• In this area the weather can change very quickly. You need to know the signs of approaching storms or changing weather conditions.

• Some places to avoid will there is a storm happening near you are lone trees, streams, and rocks during lighting storms. You would want to go to a densely forested area at a lower elevation.

• If you travel after dark it will raise your chances of getting injured.

• When you set up a camp site you should always set the camp site up away from any cliffs and other things that you mite fall off of.

• If you need to leave the camp after dark you should have a buddy with you incase you fall or a snake bites you.

• Social: It could help you get to know people.
