AE Foxfire Youth EvangelistsHelp Transform the Next Generation

Dear Friend,I am full of expectation about all the new ways your support is enabling AE to reach out to people in Africa as never before in this new year!

As Isaiah says, “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland” (Isaiah 43:19).

You see this in how your generosity has opened up new hope and joy for youth through the Foxfires (front page) and for vulnerable new Christians in Rwanda (pg. 3).

We also see God’s new things in how he is leading AE forward into new ministry fruitfulness. It was my honour to take the reins as International Team Leader as of January 1st this year. And as

AE’s Foxfires had great success in sharing the gospel throughout Africa in 2012 and transforming the lives of the next generation of Africans. It’s not only those who hear from the Foxfires, but those trained as Foxfires also benefit from this ministry.

No one better epitomises this than Malawian Foxfire Coordinator, Wellington. His life has been forever changed through your support of the program. He explains in his own words,

usually regularly viciously beat up my rivals.

In September 2007 I was radically healed after being extremely ill and this

led me to a faith in Jesus Christ. I went on to audition for the Malawian Foxfires in early 2011. I was still spiritually quite immature. My transformation came about when I was exposed to the Foxfires training content, especially in the areas of character and God’s love. African Enterprise began in 1962 with the goal to “evangelise the cities of Africa through word and deed in partnership with the church.” Ever since then, we have been fulfilling this call to help meet the tremendous physical, social and spiritual needs in Africa.

One way that you too can meet the needs of our brothers and sisters in Africa is by leaving a legacy to African Enterprise. A legacy, or a gift in your will, is a way for you to leave your mark on this world for Jesus Christ long after you are gone!

Your legacy to African Enterprise will make a real difference in today’s world and touch thousands of lives for Christ for years to come. So please request more information on leaving a legacy on the enclosed reply card.

Thanks to your ongoing support of missions work in Africa the AE team in Rwanda have continued supporting the churches following the Rusizi mission in 2012. All the churches involved have started discipleship courses for the new believers. Many churches witnessed a rapid growth due to the number of salvations that occurred during this time, totalling almost 8000. Pastor Nsengumuremyi Theoneste from a church in the Mururu Sector mentioned an increase of 70 members, which brought his small church to double the initial size.

When Missions Director, Songe Chibambo, was in Australia last year, we asked him why follow up was so important. He shares:

“If mission is not funded well we end up doing a half hearted job. We need to plan well and invest in the church pastors so there can be lasting change. If we do this we empower the church and equip them so when we leave a city they can follow through with the plans and when we return 3 years later we see evidence of fruit that abides!”

Mission begins when we go and liaise with church leaders in any city in any location. It’s all about discipleship and funds enable us to do that.

Late last year African Enterprise let friends like you know about the immediate need we faced in taking the gospel to the unreached people in Africa. Many of you will remember the story of Patrick who happened to stumble on a church service where AE Ugandan team leader, Geoffrey Byarugaba, was speaking. There was an audible gasp across the congregation as Patrick entered the church as he was a known fundamentalist Muslim. He gave his life to the Lord that day. Patrick is a passionate follower of Christ and has already brought 8 of his Muslim friends to the Lord. Geoffrey who

spoke at the church that morning received an urgent request from the Pastor asking for bibles for all their new members.

As we have shared with you many times, AE is a ministry that lives by faith, believing and trusting that the Lord will provide what is necessary through friends like you.

Thankfully, many friends like you responded to this need, providing nearly $50 000 to support evangelists like Geoffrey, who didn’t know what God was going to do that day.

AE Executive Director, Peter Cheel shares: “Africa needs more Christians who are passionate about the Gospel that will take up this mandate to reach out to the frontier regions of Africa. This is right at the heart of what AE is all about. This support will go a long way to help our teams in Africa... and help proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to thousands of unreached people.

Thank you for saying “yes”. We – and the church leaders in Africa who will benefit – are deeply grateful!
